And the thing was, Tara wouldn't have loved Kennedy as much as she did if she'd thought she was the type to put life on hold for somebody she was dating. Being honest about that made everything else sad but easier.

"We have months," Tara said thickly. "And by Fandom standards we have it easy after that. We're from the same world and the same time and everything."

In her defense, she was only off by three years.
