The Boards, Sunday
Drac's week had been... interesting. He wasn't going to talk about it.
He was happy to be out of his rooms, though, and flew his way quickly through the daylight and into the theatre through his office window, ready for the last rounds of discussion with Jonothon about the casting. He was actually pleased to find one of those sticky yellow pieces of note paper on his desk that read Final Draft Casting in what appeared to be a drunken, scrawly version of the director's handwriting. Underneath it was a folder that contained the former drafts of the cast list.
Including the latest:
"Joni? Isn't that..." As if she thought she was expected, Joni wandered into Drac's office and leapt onto his desk and proceeded to bathe herself. Drac couldn't help laughing. "I knew we were having trouble deciding the roles, but I don't think we're desperate enough to cast the cat in every role."
Joni stopped her grooming to give Drac a stern look, though the rear leg in the air and the tongue still sticking partway out ruined the dramatic effect she was probably going for.
Drac tsked at her. "Not that I doubt your talents, but to perform all the roles would be exhausting even for a diva like yourself. And I don't remember this 'David' person auditioning; what if he is not up to being your co-star?"
That seemed to mollify her and she mewled before returning to her grooming. Amused, Drac went rifling through the folder for the previous draft of role assignments and notes on the auditions. After an hour or so, he had a final list ready that seemed satisfactory... although he had a few minor roles uncast.
He wandered down to the main area of the theatre to look for Jonothon and to post what they did have assigned so that the actors could clear their calenders for rehearsals.
He stopped in the hallway and stared. There was an area of the carpet outside Jonothon's office that was blocked off by the satin theatre ropes from downstairs. "WHO MOVED THE STANCHIONS?!!"
[Jekyll and Hyde it is! Cast roles will be in the OCD! Script and rehearsal info coming soon! Thanks everyone, this really was hard to cast!]
