Ben popped into the store. "I'm not wearing a hat today!"

"It made sparring with my grandfather absolutely ridiculous," Ben said with a laugh. "It's hard to take a lecture seriously when he's blowing bow out of his eyes."

He laughed harder. "Completely. 'Don't let your anger control you, Ben,'" he drawled in his best Anakin impression. "'Kriffing hat!'"

Ben grinned. "He'd hate knowing I did that," he said, not sounding sorry in the least.

"Because he stops in here all the time," Ben teased.

"He builds things, too," Ben admitted. "He's waaay better at it than I am."

Ben beamed at her. "This is why I come visit every week. You're good for my ego."

"Oh, I ignored that part," he said.

"He's into...cooking, right?"

Like Ben didn't listen to the radio to find out information. Big liar.

"Maybe a tiny little oven for his room? So he doesn't have to go into the common room?" Ben suggested.

Ben nodded. "And something that won't get too hot on the outside because setting his room on fire would be bad."

"When do you need it done by?"

"How old is he turning?" Ben asked.

"That's ancient," Ben said. "You should make sure the dials are very clearly labeled. Eyesight goes first, I hear."

"That's because their sense of humor also goes early," Ben counseled.

Ben grinned. "I'm sure you'll be a very astral old person."

"But not nineteen," Ben said. "That's Jaina old. That's...my grandfather's wife old."

Ben's home life was odd.

"No kidding," Ben said. "My grandfather's going to be a father. How icky is that?"
