For some weird reason, Adrian really wanted to get drunk by the end of the night. Granted, the way he could do this it'd probably be hard to tell drunk!Adrian from just regular old drinking!Adrian, but it'd happen.

He made himself a drink upon getting behind the bar, and Tino just shook his head at him.

"You can make one for yourself," Adrian pointed out, and suddenly Tino didn't look so judgmental.

Drinking sounded fantastic, and so it was really too bad Dimitri was on duty and drinking some sort of flavored water thing Tino had given him.

He eyed Adrian who seemed to be drinking more than usual this evening. "Aren't you a little young to go after the alcohol so heavily?"

"Us kids these days just start younger and younger," he said, taking another sip of his drink. "They didn't do this at your high school?"

"At my academy there was no bar nearly attached to the campus. And I don't think the instructors would've sat beside students while drinking." It was weird, after all.

"We just used our rooms," Adrian said, almost looking nostalgic. "The instructors didn't so much come back there with us. Thank god."

In the short time he'd been at St. Vlad's, Dimitri had broken up his fair share of such gatherings. Of course Adrian would be the type of Royal to throw them. "They probably figured you all were safe enough, so long as no one got hurt."

"Exactly. It's all in good fun," he shrugged. When he remembered it, anyway. "You never did any of that, either?"

Dimitri shrugged, knowing he'd been no saint in his day. "Sure, but not constantly. I was what you'd call focused." It was how he'd graduated top of his class.

"Unsurprising. Had to prepare you for this sort of thing, not being able to do it on duty, huh?" Adrian could never do it. Seriously.

"Sluggish reflexes won't protect you from things that are innately faster than me, if untrained." The training was all Dimitri had on the average Strigoi who was a former Moroi, and usually it was more than enough. "So I remain sober."

"I appreciate it," he said, actually sincerely. Hey, someone had to be the sober one here.

"Uh huh," Dimitri nodded. "Our arrangement seems to be working out that way." Even if all parties weren't presently human.

All good pranks needed an alibi. Or at least a window of opportunity.

Elena was relieved to see that Reno hadn't found his way to the bar yet tonight. If he somehow skipped the bar and found entertainment elsewhere -- well, they'd burn that bridge when they got to it.

For now, two Rookies needed a lookout, and the bartender seemed like a good candidate.

Elena approached the bar, Ino close behind, and flashed Adrian the most charming smile she could muster.

"Do you like money?" she asked. That would certainly get his attention, wouldn't it?

"I have enough of it, but now I have to see what this is leading up to," he said with a smirk. Of course there was a smirk.

Ino tried not to laugh--wasn't that too blunt?--and looked as innocent as she could as she studied the man who might possibly be of use to them with appraising eyes.

Maybe this would work? If they were lucky?

"We had a special request in mind," Ino said, eyes wide and playing the innocent act for all she was worth. "But if you're not in it for money we'll need a new fair trade."

He so loved high school girls. "Why don't you tell me what I'd be doing and we can talk about what it might be worth?" he suggested.

"Making one little phone call," Elena said. "That's all. While you're here at work. Someone's going to come in, and then leave again. Once he leaves, you dial a number. It'll take ten seconds, if that. And we'd be really grateful."

It hardly ever hurt to play up the vamp angle.

That worked on two levels, really. "I can make a call," he agreed. "If I get to call in something in return at a later date." When he actually needed something, maybe. It sucked he didn't have anything now.

She cast a glance at Elena before nodding.

"I think we can manage that," she said, lips curving in a smile.

"Then consider it a deal," Adrian said. Again with the smirk. "Who am I looking for?"

Elena held a hand up, miming someone taller than herself. "Red hair, ponytail, facial tattoos. Rumpled suit. Drinks like he has a few extra livers."

Maybe he did. The ways of the Reno were strange.

"I'm thinking he should be easy to spot," he said dryly. "All right, easy enough. You'll get your call."

"Thanks," she said, smiling sunnily at him. "We won't forget we owe you."

"I'd hope not. I'm very good at reminding people about things like that," he said teasingly.

Mostly teasingly. He did get kinda stalkery, but that was really reserved for Rose.

Elena pulled out a scrap of paper and scribbled her cell phone number on it.

"There," she said. "For when he leaves, and for whenever it is you need two blondes to make your life a little more interesting."

She wasn't actually suggesting anything like that, but pfft. Hot guy. Flirting was essential.

Some time after a certain duo had left, Reno made his way in to the bar. The bar was an excellent place to go to wind down, get completely fucking smashed, and to work on a lesson plan for tomorrow, he'd decided.

Yes, being drunk and writing lesson plans went hand-in-hand. Why the hell not?

It was more interesting that way.

And so Reno was grinning to himself as he flagged Tino down. There were important shots to be downed, here.

[Leave it to me to toss up an establishy ping in a bar, huh? You can tag to Reno if you want to, but it'll be for great SP justice, as I have to crash soon.]

So not only am I drinking but I had to spray for ants again so the fumes are getting to me. It might be an interesting night.

DRINKS! MY WINE BOTTLE IS GETTING LESSER. *sads*
