The Streets of Fandom, Friday Afternoon
"Alright, guys!" Zack's arms were crossed over his chest as he looked around the streets. Handwavey Messages had been left on the phones of anybody who had exchanged numbers at past Reserve meetings, Martial or Magic, and people had been told to bring whatever they needed in order to go zombie-fish hunting. "This is kind of like the time we had alligators burping goldfish, but this time, there aren't any gators, and the fish mean business. I don't want anybody setting off to face them down on their own, you hear me?"
He casually ducked as a swarm of piranha zipped by, where his head had been a moment before.
Karla sent a flare of Sapphire power after the swarm, dropping them in mid-air. Hello! They were talking here! No reason to be man-eating and rude.
"There's no reason for anyone to keep fighting while injured, or anything like that, so if you get bit or something, head back to the dorms or the clinic and have someone stitch you back up," Karla continued. "The last thing any of us want is some kind of suppurating flesh wound. They're gross."
While Karla spoke, the piranhas had undergone their zombiefication and flung themselves back up into the air, heading back for the group.
"Great. Also, it looks like you have to kill them twice."
A well-aimed Fira spell courtesy of Zack took care of the re-raised fish, and after a moment taken to poke at one of the char-broiled bodies with his toe, Zack shrugged and looked to the group.
"Let's get to it, then, and show these fish that they're messing with the wrong island!"
[This was always in the streets, ssh. OCD-Free and open to all! If you think you got a message, then you totally did, but anybody is welcome to meander on in to check out the action! Co-Written with the lovely
glacial_witch, of course!]

"At any rate, I always appreciate a mobile, living target. Well, living." Cloud assembled the hollow blade on the main body, swinging it as he looked for a new group. "I guess this makes for a good drill for the newer Reserves members?"
Always the optimistic, that was Cloud.

Which tasted horrible, for the record.

"I need to restock. Badly."

Now, how did a Phoenix Down felt? He wasn't quite conscious when somebody used it on him. "Small price for easy magic?"

It made sense in Karla's world, really.

"Craft makes you...thinner?" He wanted to add more?, but Karla might have just hit him, for some reason. He didn't want to prove his theory though.

"Wielding Craft requires energy," Karla said with a casual shrug. "That energy has to come from somewhere. Normally, it happens at a reasonable rate--it's why my metabolism runs so high, remember? But when I'm throwing a lot of power around for a long time, my metabolism runs into high gear. So I either have to eat a lot, or I lose weight."
Another shrug. "Everything has a price."
no subject
"It...makes sense." In its very odd, particular way. Energy had to come from somewhere, as Karla had said.
"And that is a powerful phrase." It meant a lot, at least for him, and he could tell it probably meant even more for Karla.

"You'll do good. Something tells me you have it in you. And...there are always long distance courses?"

It was very depressing to see some of them rise up again, even if they were mostly charcoal.
