Book Haven, Tuesday

Yei was racing around the store today and Hinata thought that she was chasing the dust bunnies but wasn't entirely sure of that. She didn't bother to deliberately find out, however, as some things were more entertaining as mysteries and watching Yei be happy was enough to lift her mood slightly.

She tidied up the store and set out tea for any visitors that might come by, and then settled in to continue working on her wording of a letter. Some things, truly, had to be phrased just so.

Hayley had been in town the other day, and had only just realized she hadn't called her friend to try to meet with her.

She was so scatterbrained, these days.

So now, Hayley was calling to try and talk to Hinata. Ring, ring.

The phone was a welcome distraction from trying to decide if it would be better to begin with a challenge, or tread softly in her letter.

She picked it up on the second ring. "Hello?"

"Hinata!" Hayley squeaked, happy to hear her friend's voice. "Guess who gets ta go inherit a bunch of money on Friday?"

Yep, she still wasn't sad about the death of her family.

"It sure is," Hayley said. "I'm already thinkin' about all the things I'll be able to get, you know? Though I have no idea how much it'll be. My folks weren't loaded or anything."

"I... one thing? You mean I got to limit it down?" Hayley said, frowning. "I guess if I had to pick one thing, it'd be a better apartment. I'm starting to hate this tiny thing. It's... a lot like a cell."

"I dunno if decorations would make it seem any bigger," Hayley said, thinking. "I mean, I'm not allowed to paint anything or I get in trouble, so those options are limited."

She sighed. "You know, this'll be the first time goin' back to Gotham since I was kidnapped."
