The Perk, Saturday Morning
If Leto looked a little tired, he did have a good excuse, even if he didn't need as much sleep as he had when he had still been only human. Having arrived in Fandom expecting a fun pizza dinner with Ghani, he had instead found Alice, pregnant and distressed, and tried to have a calming influence on her while taking in a few things:
1. Alice had been in Fandom for a while and no one, including Ghanima, had told him.
2. Alice was expecing their child and was due to give birth very soon, the result of his accidental visit in Wonderland about eight years ago for him. Now, having merged with the sandtrout, fathering children was no longer possible for him.
3. All this was rather surprising, and as someone who could see every detail in the future of his universe, surprises were few and far between.
So he had ordered a very large cup of coffee and sat down at a table by the window. A quite substantial amount of Spice had been added to the hot drink, and he now sipped it, trying to deal with the conflicting emotions while the future mother of his child had some time to herself. First of all he was intensely happy. He had found Alice and he was going to be a father. But that joy was clouded somewhat by the fact that Alice wasn't well at all, tormented by ghosts of the past, and that she had hidden from him with Ghanima's assistance.
[Open Perk, welcome to talk to Leto.]

"Hello," he nodded, sitting at a nearby table. "What brought you to the island, Leto? I haven't seen you since graduation that I can remember."

"Jack. It's been a long time. For me, at least." Eight years, and added to that many changes, some visible, others not. "I came to see my sister but found... Alice. And you?"

He shrugged one shoulder. "I'm at college, but I had a summer job on the island. This is near the end of it."

He sipped his coffee, then added: "Please join me, if you want." He gestured at the opposite chair at his table. "A summer job here?"

It was nothing personal that Jack's voice sounded less than wholeheartedly congratulatory; it was just a general feeling children were a burden, compounded by the fact this seemed to be unplanned. Unless, of course, it wasn't Leto's, but he was sure Leto would correct him if that was the case.
[OOC: Will be on & off today due to family stuffs. Yay SP?]

And Alice had had the wisdom to seek out Ghani.

He shook his head. "Medicine and such are so much better now. The baby will be fine, I'm sure."

"And your life? Where do you live when you're not here?"

He would have understood wanting too, but need caught his ear.

Being Emperor of the Known Universe was a heavy responsibility, as was saving humanity.

"But I hope that at least for a time Alice will want to join me and we can raise the child. It would be the best surprise possible."
