Pre-Spring Break 'Not Girlkissy' Slumber Party, Friday Evening

A room at the community center had been set up for a perfectly innocent slumber party that was in no way intended to promote girlkissy. Streamers were tacked to the walls, a buffet table held a range of late-night nibblies with a bias toward the sweet end of the spectrum, and a sound system played current pop and dance songs. Blankets, pillows and sleeping bags were heaped neatly along one wall, ready to be put into use by anyone with the inclination to stay the night.

Depending on your inclinations, this was either an innocent celebration of the start of spring break, or the ideal way for Fandom's young women to explore their Sapphic urges. Either way, it promised to be a good night.

Lucrezia seemed to grasp the premise of the game. She waited for a lull to take hold of the bottle for herself.

It spun in a lazy semicircle before finally pointing at the girl who had kissed her friend Dany a few minutes before.

"It's Rebecca, isn't it?" Lucrezia asked, flushing as she realized she scarcely knew the name of the girl she was about to kiss.

"Yep," Rebecca confirmed, beaming. Oooh, she was just getting all the old-fashioned girls tonight, wasn't she? "You're... Lucrezia?"

"Yes," she said, moving to sit next to the other girl.

Rebecca's coloring was warm, like Djem's had been. Djem, who had called her the most beautiful treasure of the Vatican, and whose lips she still kissed in her dreams. Was Rebecca a Moor? Did she come from the great Ottoman Empire that Lucrezia had never seen with her own eyes?

Lucrezia dismissed thoughts of her dead friend with a shake of her head. Life was for the living, and the girls at this party were very much alive. And warm, and soft, and inviting.

She leaned in, allowing a self-conscious laugh to escape.

"Let us hope the bottle has chosen well?"

"I think you'll be pleasantly surprised," Rebecca purred, leaning in to touch her lips to Lucrezia's.

Yep. Warm, soft and inviting pretty much summed her up. Her kiss, anyway. Get your mind out of the gutter.

Odd how kissing a girl was so very different than kissing a man. It had been Giulia who taught her to kiss, but only briefly; a hesitant flutter. This was so much more delightful, her lips moving against Rebecca's as she inhaled the scent of her hair.

Instinctively, she reached to place her fingers on Rebecca's cheek, leaning into the kiss.

When Rebecca drew back, she was smirking.

"How was that?" she asked innocently. Because she was considerate!
