The Devil's Nest | Thursday Evening

Okay Buffy was well aware that she had a pretty active sex drive, but there was something about this week that made it almost unbearable. She had been, ahem, taking care of things herself of course but it wasn't really doing the trick as the week went on.

She tried to not let that mess with her first day of work but it was highly distracting. Even the bouncer was starting to look attractive.

Anytime there was a new employee, Jack tried to get in to meet them in the first couple weeks. In practical terms, it meant he could take care of the boring stuff about paperwork and paychecks and keys; in personal terms, he was just nosy.

His nosiness seemed to pay off today.

"Hey," he said, leaning against the bar. "I'm Jack. Eric's assistant manager type. How are you settling in so far?"

Also, was she aware she was extremely attractive? Because Jack would be happy to tell her, if she wasn't.

"He's going downhill," Jack mused,shooting a dagger-laced glare up at the DJ booth. "On Monday it was 'Let's Get It On.'"

He got the finger from the booth in return. The DJ seemed to be frustrated too. Jack let it wash off him and turned back to Buffy.

"So what were you doing before you came here? And do a lot of people bother you about your name?" He hadn't heard it before, but it didn't strike him as any ridiculous than Kaidan or Sholeh.
