For some reason, the zombie band was trying their hand at Metallica covers today. And as it turned out, it was really pretty difficult for dead guys (and girl) to keep up the tempo that came with 80's metal songs.

For her part, Kitty had already grabbed a bottle of aspirin from her office in case anyone needed it, and was maybe wondering why deafness day couldn't have waited until today.

"Kitty," Natasha said with a nod as she took a seat at the bar. "Vodka?"

"Hey," she greeted her. "Russian?"

Taking a wild guess here.

"What kind of question is that?" Natasha asked, because really.

"Just checking," she smiled, getting a glass. "How are you doing?"

"Oh, you know," Natasha said with a shrug. "The exciting life of a gym manager."

Which was to say that she'd been off-island for a few days assassinating a minor dictator. No big.

"And you?"

"So same old, same old?" she said, sliding over her drink. Kitty might notice when Natasha wasn't around the house when she was, but she never asked about it. "You could have the exciting life of a bar manager."

Who had to deal with Metallica-playing zombies.

Derek shot a look at the other person at the bar. Because smelling vaguely like Barton was just enough to put him on edge.

Look, you get shot with enough arrows, it happens.

Oh, please, like Derek was the only one who'd ever been shot. "Can I help you?" Natasha asked pointedly.

Yeah, well it was still rude.

Just sayin'.

"You work at the gym." That Derek had to avoid and never show off his sweet pull up moves.

"I do," Natasha agreed. "I don't know that I've seen you in there." Avoider.

Derek carefully edged on over to the bar. Just in case Kitty felt the need to yell at him about things that weren't even his fault.

Stop listening to teenagers, Kitty.

"Hey there?" Kitty greeted him, noticing the careful edging.

Oh, good. He was safe!

For now.

"Water," he said, taking a seat.

"Coming right up," she said. In fact, it was so right up it was in front of him like two seconds later, because it was water. "So what's up?"

"We're not deaf anymore." In case the band missed that memo.

"Good evening. Have any specials tonight?" Bruce asked after striding into the bar and taking a seat reasonably far away from Derek. He wasn't really planning on getting sniffed out, thank you very much.

"We... have specials on great service?" Kitty tried.

"Well, that's pretty much always the case from what I've seen," Bruce said, waving for Tino to bring over his usual drink.

Bruce ~~bribed~~ tipped him very well to make sure the service was impeccable, of course.

"I like endorsements like that," Kitty replied. "I know you, right? You look familiar."

"Bruce Wayne. I was fifteen, sixteen years younger the last time I spent any time here in Fandom," Bruce explained. "Timeline issues."
