Pick Your Poison, Friday

Ino showed up at work directly from Reno's place, which meant her suit was a bit rumpled today since sleeping in it tended to do that, no matter how durable the stupid things were, but she was fine.

Even tiny boss' broadcast, when she listened to it, just made her laugh.

But as the day wore on, she felt... antsy. Something uneasy slinking into her mood and try though she did, she couldn't shake it. Maybe it was because what she and Reno were going to be doing was more than a little insane. Maybe it was that. Maybe it was because Zack weren't going to be happy.

Maybe, maybe, maybe.

Ino figured walking at the beach afterwards might help. Or, like, the woods... she could enjoy the trees. Yeah. That sounded good.

"Maybe he just wanted to be alone?" Ino tried. It was hard for her to be too concerned about it, as out of sorts as she was. "Jono's one of the most powerful people on the island, if something were up, he wouldn't go disappearing."

Maybe he'd just wanted a walk, Hannibal. In the woods.

Where Ino's thoughts had been drifting more and more as the afternoon had gone on. It was a good thought, that Hannibal had had, going to check with another telepath.

Too bad she'd already been compromised.

"Entirely possible," Hannibal conceded. "But can you imagine he wouldn't respond to me, if only to grouse about needing the time alone?"

Never let it be said Jono missed a chance for good snark.

"Normally," Ino said, tilting her head slightly, and fidgeting with a pen. "But ain't he been kind of in a rut the last few months? Maybe he just wanted a think without anyone at all around for a bit."

She spun the pen around in her hand and then set it down.

"Tea?" Ino offered, though it caused a twinge in her to do so. She'd have to put off her walk for a bit longer. "You like to pick thoughts apart. Maybe he just didn't want to do that today."

It just seemed like a lot of effort for no real reason? Ino just couldn't bring herself to be too concerned about Jono today.

Which was unlikely, given Jono's behavior and now Ino's.
