Lance had no earthly idea how he'd ended up waking up in what he could only describe as the apartment of a homeless guy who'd somehow failed to realize he wasn't homeless. But obviously he hadn't stayed there: he'd gone out and secured himself an actual hotel room - nicest one he could get, also obviously, because this was a work trip and he wasn't footing the bill.

And then he'd gone out in search of coffee. Seeing a place called 'The Perkolator' didn't exactly fill him with confidence, but, whatever. "You do any kind of decent Americano in this backwater town?" he asked the barista, barely looking up from his phone. In his defense, he was trying to check who exactly he was in this town to meet with.

Maggie Townsend and Amherst and Hope Ann were next week, so --
