Caritas- Saturday before 8:15 pm
It was that time of year again! New people were here! New people to date, get to know, or perhaps make a mortal enemy of!
You never know.
Signs were hung up in front of the bar, both obviously, and easy to miss for anyone who might wander in and get signed up without their knowledge. Above the bar was a banner (in glitter):
TONIGHT!
THREE MINUTE DATES!
GOOD LUCK WBRURBODY
Your hostess wasn't gonna question it. And a few minutes before 8:00, she took the stage.
"Hello, everyone! And welcome to Three Minute Dates!" Kitty greeted them. "If you're new to this, the rules are simple. We call your name along with one other person. You talk to this person, get to know their likes, their loves, their dreams. After three minutes, a buzzer will sound-" Pause for the sound. "-and you'll hear your name paired with a different person. Et cetera. If there is anyone you'd like to talk to more, the bar will be open afterwards for drinks and conversation. Remember that any violence will get you transported into the pond, but also please don't attempt violence in order to flee, that is rude to the rest of your dates. Now I'm going to get off the stage. Have fun, and good luck..."
She trailed off, not going to attempt to pronounce the word on that sign.
[Hold for so much OCD OCD up! Date away!

Re: Round One: Amaya Blackstone / Jane Foster
Look, she was a little out of practice here.
Re: Round One: Amaya Blackstone / Jane Foster
And was it something she could rustle up some business out of?
"You one of the new teachers?"
That always seemed a fair guess, this time of year.
Re: Round One: Amaya Blackstone / Jane Foster
A real work in progress with weird... Asgardian magic. Stuff.
Re: Round One: Amaya Blackstone / Jane Foster
"How to change it...how?" she asked, because, well, changing a cloak didn't really seem like it should be all that complicated, but, hey, also, she'd just met Jane, and, if she went by her experience sometimes with people in armor....they weren't always the...brightest lot at times.
Re: Round One: Amaya Blackstone / Jane Foster
"Oh, it's magic," Jane said, hauling Mjolnir up onto the table to thud into place. "Which, not really my forte. And I know it should be able to change the outfit, but I haven't figured out how just yet."
Because changing back? No thanks.
Re: Round One: Amaya Blackstone / Jane Foster
"Oh." She instantly seemed to deflate, as soon as magic was brought into it, but then, just as quickly, she perked right back up immediately once there was a big massive hammer on the table, because oh hello.
"Oh." That next one came with an understanding, almost sympathetic nod. "Cursed weapon, then, is it? That's always a tricksy one, but there's more than a few magically-inclined folks on the island that might be able to have a look at it for you. Can't say I'm much help there, when I work with weapons, I do it without the bells and whistles, unless you count the materia, which I really don't, they're more like technology than anything else, if you ask me. But, zounds."
Her eyes were trained on Mjolnir with admiration and she shook her head and let out a long whistle. "That's definitely a piece worth being cursed over."
Re: Round One: Amaya Blackstone / Jane Foster
Again. Maybe not the biggest thing to gush about, but if you thought that, clearly you weren't short.
Re: Round One: Amaya Blackstone / Jane Foster
Because she had eyes, thank you.
Not very good ones, because she should really wear her glasses more, but that was beside the point.
"Still," she said, "the idea of being stuck with anything I can't change, no matter what benefits might come along with it, falls squarely into 'cursed' territory, if you ask me, but I never did hold much water for the magic stuff."
Re: Round One: Amaya Blackstone / Jane Foster
Re: Round One: Amaya Blackstone / Jane Foster
It was then that the sound went off to signal the end of the round.
"And," she added, pushing back her chair, "that sounds like a story for another time, at that."
She gave Jane a thoughtful look, though, as she stood up. "It was nice meeting you, Jane," she said. "Swing by the shop sometime if you the chance; I'd love to hear more about all this magical hammer stuff, and maybe even chat about some weapons and armor that are perhaps a lot less magical, too, while we're at it."
