Homecoming 2022, Community Center, Friday Evening
Homecoming in November meant the community center was decked out in harvest-themed decorations for this evening's festivities. There were pumpkins that had somehow survived un-carved after Halloween, baskets of glittery vegetables (not for eating, please), decorative hay bales, and... a disco ball?
It's a dance, some things get dug out of the decoration closet no matter what the theme might be.
The food table was full and the drinks were un-spiked for the moment, so it was time for everyone to get their dance on!

"You really do look lovely," he said with a soft grin as he stood, trying to fight back the nerves as he went to put his hands on Libby's waist lightly, almost afraid himself of messing up the beautiful dress.
Re: Dancing [HoCo 2022]
"So do you," she said, and then laughed at little at how that sounded and shook her head. "I mean, you look handsome. But you always do."
And just when she thought she'd reached the capacity for blushing, too, she goes and proved herself completely wrong! But at least she managed to shut her mouth and keep herself from babbling further along that point.
Re: Dancing [HoCo 2022]
Happiness at being able to spend time with Libby, which he always loved and enjoyed no matter what they were doing. Nervousness at not wanting to mess things up or make Libby feel uncomfortable at all. And a brief flutter of sadness as he remember what Libby had said about the decision she was going to have to make soon.
Pushing that last thought out Kurt smiled and started to lead Libby a little as he picked up on the beat of the song. There would be a time for that kind of talk later, if Libby ever wanted to. But that time was not right now. They had better, much better, things to think about and focus on.
Re: Dancing [HoCo 2022]
Should she say something else? But who even knew what she might say next? Maybe she should just focus on the dancing, and the music, and Kurt...and...and breathing, apparently, which she knew should be a pretty automatic function, but for someone reason seemed just a little bit more difficult than usual right now...
Re: Dancing [HoCo 2022]
So, after a few awkwardly quiet moments Kurt took a deep breath, finding it a little harder to keep his tail from nervously twitching behind him. He looked around the room for a moment, his mind thinking on something, and then gave a soft smile as he leaned in a little closer to Libby to whisper.
"I definitely think this place is enchanted. It has to be to have summoned a fair lady such as yourself" he said with a small grin. It was both an honest statement but also a small attempt to break that nervous tension that had fallen with the silence.
Re: Dancing [HoCo 2022]
It was a good thing he whispered, too, because Libby didn't think she could manage a voice louder than one herself right now.
"It must be magic," she agreed. "To have brought me to someone so wonderful. But..." she bit her lip a little, curling and uncurling her hand at his shoulder, "in the stories, don't enchantments like this eventually fade away?"

So it would be a moment before she could actually remember to respond. Maybe even to blink.
"Kurt..."
Re: Dancing [HoCo 2022]
He had barely dared hope to get to dance with her at all. And now they had made it through one whole song. Did he dare risk it?
After a brief moment of internal panic and flailing Kurt asked, voice barely above a whisper as he felt butterflies really take off
"Would you like to keep dancing?"
Re: Dancing [HoCo 2022]
"Y-yes, please," she managed to get out, with a nod, and, as that stomach seemed to burst out into her own butterflies, she laughed a little, feeling almost as if she'd snapped out of some sort of trance.
Enchantments, indeed.
"I really like dancing with you, Kurt."
