"Pretty simple this week," Summer answered with a proud sort of grin, as if she herself was behind the entire conceit of a French 75. "Blueberries, obviously, and then you've got some gin and champagne as your boozahol, and then some lemon to just give it that nice finishing touch. You wanna try one?"

Oh, don't set Summer up for a challenge like that. She will take it way too seriously.

"Excellent," she said, having already started grabbing the things to mix it up. "And how's things so far this week, Harley? Pretty good?"

"Oh, yeah?" asked Summer, brows lifted with interest as she put the finishing touches and the little blueberry garnish on Harley's drink and set it in front of her. "Which shop? Did you commandeer a current one or are you bringing something new to one of the old dusty ones?"

And there was Summer, blinking a little and quirking her head toward Harley like maybe she'd heard that wrong, and then she snorted.

"No shit?" she asked. "Really? You know I used to work at that place in high school."

Which was actually now starting to get to be a real substantial amount of time ago, unlike when she'd say that when she was, like, twenty or whatever.

"I mean," said Summer with a snort, "yeah, that sounds about right, and that would have probably been when I graduated that I last worked there, which would have been about..."

She blinked.

Reminded herself that Atton was forty, to feel slightly better about that number.

"...a while ago, let's just say that, and then honestly never really thought about it much beyond that. And the only reason I even took the job then was because I used to work at a different Needful Things back home, actually, and thought it was interesting that there was one here, too. Not run by the devil, though."

"Yeah," Summer said with a nod, "you know, Satan. Lucifer. But not the Lucifer here over at the Devil's Nest, a different one. My world's version of him. He went by Lucius Needful back home, which, I mean, come on, man, you're barely even trying! He was kind of a jerk, though; he totally Zuckerberged me and froze me out of my own idea to take his cursed items business online, but it's fine, me and my grampa totally buffed up on steroids and beat the living shit out of him. While he was onstage broadcasting the announcement to millions of viewers."

Excuse her for a moment for a wistful sigh, and she shook her head.

"That," she added, "was also another thing about this Needful Things that kind of threw me, that they're just regular antiques and not cursed ones. I guess that probably falls into the realm of Liliana's shop more than that one, although if you do come across any, I'd be interested to hear about it."

That was fine. Summer tended to just get excited when she babbled about the weird shit she'd been through, and that one had been so long ago that she was all nostalgic about it, too.
