Midnight Manor - Saturday Morning
After a rather unexpected awakening, Dean and the two Rugrats/Alarm clocks came into the kitchen. Dean started work on making pancakes, sausage and bacon. And after a moment of thought started making vegan bacon and pancake batter as well.
Look if it was happening to him, it was happening elsewhere. Might as well cook for everyone.
He flipped on his phone and the bluetooth speaker and started playing his music and hopefully keep the mood light.
[Open for housemates, vistors or any other little ones.]

This was said far, far too loud for normal conversation. Evie was still working on volume, particularly when she was excited.
She held up her stuffed bunny. "This is Tawa. She likes lettuce."

Honestly it's easier being nicer to other kids than your own sometimes.

"Sorry, Dad," Evie said. She took Steven's hand with her free one to show she was not going anywhere.
Steven took in all that Dean was doing. "Oh! Are you making breakfast? That's wonderful. You've little ones running about yourself, I take it?"
no subject
"Uh, I got some vegan pancakes batter going if that's what your kids go for and the orange plate has the tofu bacon. The girl in black is Samantha and the other one is my niece apparently? I'm still figuring that out."

Evie nodded solemnly. "Bacon is special meat. We don't eat special meat."
"That's right, love," Steven told her. To Dean he added, pointing behind him, "I told the all purpose room to be a playroom. We've had this before, with Llewellyn and Arden being little. So there's things in there for them to climb about, play with, all sorts. Anyone's children are welcome to use it.

Love immediately made a break for the door as soon as she heard about the all purpose room. "Hey! Eat your panflaps first!"
"They're pan-cakes."
"Eat whatever they are," Dean said motioning with his spatula and then turning back to Steven. "And hey don't worry about the food. I'm just trying to keep the troops fed."

Evie tugged on Steven's hand. "My cup is green."
"And we have that for you," Steven told her. Though he was going to need to dart back into the private residence to get it.

Honestly the stuffed bunny was probably the only one who wasn't going to complain about the food.
"Sure! Set up and help with the dishes later and we'll call it square."

Meanwhile Evie clambered into a chair so she could sit in front of the plate Dean had put down. She held her bunny up to her ear, then said, still far too loudly, "Tawa says thank you!"
"Inside voices, I think," Steven told her, but he lightly touched her shoulder to take any sting out of it. "It's good to have manners, but we shouldn't shout when Dean's close enough to hear us, yeah?"
Evie nodded solemnly and then said, now in an actual whisper, "Tawa says thank you."

He grinned at Steven. "Cute kid. Meanwhile I got goth girl from
meta forteen titans and a miniature space Viking."no subject
(The stuffed bunny was just a stuffed bunny. It was Fandom, it never hurt to specify such things.)
In the meanwhile Steven started collecting plates and silverware after doing a rough head count. "They seem nice?" Steven adored children, even a surly goth girl seemed nice to him. "Though - er - one hopes viking without the pillaging?"

Steven was also not unaware that it was the other version of the children's parents who would need to deal with things like crashing from a potentially weekend long sugar high.
"Handling the surprise all right?" Steven asked. "It can be a bit - er - much if you're not expecting it."
no subject
He looked at space Viking with interest. "One of them I have specific questions for."

Steven was clearly trying to find a diplomatic way to put it while in earshot of children who for all he knew counted as unique.
"But that's the multiverse for you, I suppose. Infinite possibilities means, well, never know what's out there. Exciting, though, I think."
