Around Town, Thursday afternoon

Putting up signs about the holiday party would have been easier if Tony hadn't turned into a cat.

Putting up the signs about the holiday party would have been much easier if Thor hadn't also turned into a goat.

Putting up the signs about the holiday party would have been much, much easier if it wasn't also raining marzipan, and yet Steve prevailed!

"Thor, stop eating the marzipan," he scolded, taping a sign to the pole. "Patty, you too."

Both corgi and goat ignored him while the Tony cat sat on his shoulder yowling disapproval about being outside in the weather.

Look, it was hard not to notice this scene through the window of her office, so Steph stuck a Back in 5! sign up on the counter of the store and ducked outside to watch for a moment, grinning in amusement while she nibbled on a marzipan gelatinous cube. (Yes, it even had little marzipan skeletons and armor bits inside. Incredible attention to detail, island.)

"Totally. As it happens, I have exactly that many." Steph stuck her head back through the door long enough to ask one of the mini painters to watch the register for a few minutes, then polished off the last of her marzipan (might as well not enable the animals, right?) and dusted her hands off before reaching out for the signs and tape. "Hit me."

"You and Tony have always been cool to me," Steph replied easily, cutting a couple of pieces of tape to put another sign up, "so it's the least I can do."

She took a moment to actually read the text on the signs as she stuck one on the next light pole and laughed.

"Aw. So no rooftop bonfire, huh?"

"A tabletop game I want to run," Steph clarified, because she couldn't just leave him confused like that. "But like, a holiday themed one, where my players are adventurers hired to help some town get ready for a festival."

Oh no, she was already coming up with about a dozen skills challenges and three social encounters.

"Of course, they'll probably still have to defeat some creature so the town is safe to have its festival. Which hopefully will not be happening here."

Steph, you can't just say these things.
