Fandom Pride Festival 2025, The Park, All Day Saturday (6/28)

Sure, it was hot as hell out, but it wouldn't really be Pride if you didn't have to be constantly reminded to hydrate, would it? Besides, just like every year there was a rainbow high in the sky above the island, bold and vivid almost in an in-your-face kind of way.

Streamers in various Pride flag colors ran between trees and light fixtures all over the park, shiny rainbow confetti (easier to clean up than glitter!) was everywhere, and once again the bounce house and ballpit slide were at the center of all the activity.

Carnival games and rides, all of them queer-themed in some way, branched out from the bounce house area toward the karaoke stage where the NPC band made up of a bunch of wargamers from the Magpie Emporium was slated to play several sets at various points during the day (with Steph sitting in on drums for a little bit of each set). The barbecue grills in the picnic area were ready to use for anyone who wanted to make their own food, and the vendor tables and booths were set up nearby for the local businesses who'd be participating.

Things might be a little less organized this year, but in Steph's defense she didn't have as much help with the heavy lifting and last-minute details as usual since Vi was a tiny hyperactive kitty right now. Still. She'd done this enough by now to have A System, damn it.

Enjoy your laid back and entirely corporate-free Pride, Fandom!

[OOC: I, meanwhile, am much less organized this year. Sigh. Threads are up! Go forth!]

There was no way Steven and Llewellyn who would ping in soon weren't going to be there to support Steph in all her efforts. They made sure to get back to the island in plenty of time to appreciate it all.

Steven had dressed for the warm weather in a short sleeved shirt and lighter pair of trousers. He was also sporting his rainbow flag pin rather - ahem - proudly.

He took a look around to get the lay of things, making note of where the stage was so he could make sure to be in the audience when Steph performed.

"She does such a great job of it," Steven said as he took in all of Steph's handiwork.

Watts was, predictably, still in a suit despite the weather, his own Pride pin affixed to his lapel. "I imagine this sort of thing takes a lot of coordination," he agreed.

Cute. But Pam was - to put it mildly - wary of pride events, what with the whole international pinkwashing phenomenon, and--

Oh, fine. She'd show up, get some water, and loiter around the edges.

Stark was there. Not necessarily to mingle but at least to have a look around. Coming out to support Steph was important, in any case.

He wasn't sporting anything particularly pride-themed. Maybe he ought to check in with his stylist about that at some point. Did he need rainbows or something else?

Jon still looked like slightly warmed-over crap, but he felt it was a sort of duty to show up for Pride, so here he was.

And he was definitely in sunscreen and sunglasses. He was British, for god's sake.

There was a large selection of both Avengers and specifically Iron Man and Captain America themed gear various flag colors. Because Tony could never not be extra about things. Ever.

And, of course, Patty was there to lure people in.

Steve was wearing one of the shirts in a size smedium, as usual. "If it isn't my two favorite guys," he teased, reaching for a bottle of water.

Did the way Don was perusing the wares on offer perhaps suggest that the clearly superior Avenger was woefully underrepresented without him saying a word? Maaaaaaaaybe.

Raiden's second restaurant wasn't quite open yet, but that didn't stop him from unveiling their new signage and offering mimosas and bloody Marys alongside the pizza at his booth: cheese, meat lover's, or rainbow vegetable.

"Hello, Raiden!"

Look, pizza was always a draw and the potential for future breakfasts was too. Obviously.

And Raiden was a good person to be around.

"Do mimosas go with pizza?"

Margaritas did not go with pizza. It was known.

Hannibal was here to remind people that therapy was always an option!

He was wearing a light summer suit that was (not coincidentally) blue with a thin pink and purple plaid. His table had ice water and iced mint tea on offer, along with flyers explaining the basics of a good number of orientations and identities, in case people were curious or questioning.

There was also a very comfortable free armchair next to Hannibal's, if anybody wanted to talk.
