Caritas - Sunday evening [Open]

GOB was behind the bar and going about his work in a completely conventional and not at all moderately bizarre way.

This was boring.

But he just didn't have it in him to make Tino put up a sign or anything tonight. For shame.

[OOC: I am seriously uncreative in the post tonight. But worry not, I am around and slightly more creative when it comes to interaction! Possibly.]

Charlie grinned. "Maybe the geek rescues the superpowered girl, and then she stops the zombie queen? Or king. With help. But I like the idea of the geek getting in some good shots and rescuing people." She perched her chin on her hand. "Science should be able to do as much as magic, though."

"That would absolutely work. They could team up to defeat the zombie overlord once and for all," he continued grinning. "Considering the fact that I come from a place where magic isn't even an option, I definitely think science is what we should rely on," he nodded.

"Me too, although, we don't have anyone turning into cute fuzzy little animals where I come from either." Charlie shook her head. "Dean will help with the magic side of it, his family hunts supernatural stuff. So we're going to get that part *right* in the movie. But we have to leave room for a sequel!"

"Well, I suppose getting the supernatural things accurate is just as important as scientific accuracy," he pondered as he tried to remember if Charlie had mentioned Dean before.

"Oh, absolutely!" Rodney agreed. "All good horror flicks need an open ended conclusion to allow for a sequel."

"It bugs Dean when they get it wrong in the movies. The first day I was here? He took me to visit the haunted brothel in town." Charlie started to turn red, bringing that up. "I got to see the ghost that's trapped on one of the upper floors. But yeah! Dr. Clive has to escape to raise a second zombie army in the next movie!"

"A haunted brothel on your first day? That must have been quite an introduction to this place. I've never seen a ghost and I think I'd like to keep it that way," he stated honestly. "Hmm, you'll have to do something else in the sequel so that it's bigger and more dangerous than the first one. Maybe zombie dogs in addition to the zombie army?"

"Ooo. Or zombie werewolves?" Charlie said thoughtfully. "And there's just more room to keep going, you know?" She grinned, then teased Rodney, "No ghosts because they're not scientific, or because they're freaksome?"

"I don't think I've seen zombie werewolves in a movie before. Interesting."

Rodney blushed a little at her question. "I definitely prefer things that can be explained in a rational manner, but I will admit, ghosts are rather freaky." He really knew nothing about being macho.

"That one at the brothel is," Charlie said, shivering in remembrance. "Some dead serial killer. Gahh. I hope he stays locked up in that magic circle they've got him in." She shook her head. "Rational is good. I don't think it's real common around here, though. I mean, dinosaurs?"

"Right, I have no desire to see that," he shuddered. "True, this place seems to skew towards the irrational, dinosaurs being a case in point. That's why I want to learn as much as I can about the things that do make sense because those are more likely to be valid for the rest of my life."

"No interest in flying a broom, or meeting a gremlin, or swimming with mermaids?" Charlie asked, amused but not disagreeing. "Maybe we'd learn more from the irrational stuff. At least what looks irrational. Like zombies." She tilted her head, and added, "But not because I think they'd be good conversationalists."
