Caritas, Saturday evening

With the mixer in the park, D'Argo figured tonight might not be as busy as yesterday seemed to be on the radio. Which was probably a good thing. A couple of the zombies had siblings in this weekend, and were more interested in talking (or "guusdjdfh"ing at each other) than actually putting on a show, anyway.

[I'm counting on being slammed tonight, so mod Tino plz]

"Good evening," he said, nodding at each person as their names were said and glaring just slightly at Barney. Just slightly.

"I hope you all are enjoying the town."

"Hi, Brendon, was it?" Ted asked.

He was totally being petty.

"Benton," he corrected easily. "No 'R'."

Lily was sitting there with her mouth shut. Was it because she was pissed over her future children possibly being saddled with the sort of baby names that ended up on bad baby name websites? Was it because Marshall was in open waters with a cabbie?

No. It was because she was biting her tongue not to call him Wet Mountie.

"Long time no see," Barney smiled a greeting at the Mountie, seeing no glare, or just not caring. Total toss-up. "Speaking of names, what do you think is the worst name ever?"

"Perhaps Frankfurter?" Fraser said, going with something off the top of his head.

[identity profile] architectmosby.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Ooh, good one, Brandon," Ted said.

Still biting her tongue against the words that just so wanted to be said, Lily stared glaring at the boys. Yes, even Wet Mountie. He wasn't helping.

Re: The Lounge

[identity profile] just-add-starch.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Benton," he said again, smiling. "No 'R'. And thank you kindly."

Robin looked at Ted uncomfortably, watching him and trying to figure out if maybe he had damaged his hearing over the summer. It seems like the kind of thing he and Marshall would have been able to manage by making up a game or befriending a novelty homeless person or something. Maybe that was why Marshall had somehow devised a way to lose his transmission.

"Anything with too many Y's is bad. Like, Elyzabyth. Two Y's," she contributed. "My sister has one of those in her class."

Barney whipped out his cell phone and placed a call. "Eriksen, what's the worst name you've ever heard of? Don't ask why, just tell me!" He listened intently for a moment then laughed. "Phone five! Gayland, that's just Awesome!"

Re: The Lounge

[identity profile] and-lilypad.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
Lily quickly picked up her phone to dial and cut this off right now.

When Marshall didn't pick up right away, she yelled, hopefully loudly enough, "MARSHALL HANG UP RIGHT NOW."

Re: The Lounge

[identity profile] architectmosby.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
"I've got it! Worst name ever! Swarley," Ted said, proudly.

Re: The Lounge

[identity profile] canadianpopstar.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
"I think you mean best name ever," Robin corrected. "Didn't we know a Swarley? Or am I just thinking of Jennifer?"

Re: The Lounge

[identity profile] suit-of-awesome.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
"No, Marshall, Swarley is not back," Barney glared at the offenders. "But ask Ranjeet to help you make a list of terrible names. I'll explain later," Barney hung up the phone. "There is no Swarley."

Re: The Lounge

[identity profile] architectmosby.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
Ted immediately picked up his phone and dialed Marshall.

"Swarley lied. He's back."

Ted looked at Barney. "Marshall and Ranjeet both say they missed Swarles."

Re: The Lounge

[identity profile] just-add-starch.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
Fraser had started to wonder if Swarley was their imaginary friend or something.

Or maybe someone's alternate personality.

He really needed to stop reading psychology books when he was bored.

Re: The Lounge

[identity profile] canadianpopstar.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
"I do too," Robin said sadly. "I think maybe, just maybe, I should remind everyone about good old Swarlos on Tuesday when I do my show. That or Principal Mick Jagger, which reminds me."

She pulled out three DVDs in shiny, clear cases and handed one to Ted and two to Lily. "Presents for everyone!"

Re: The Lounge

[identity profile] suit-of-awesome.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
"It's okay, that's not what I think it is," Barney said calmly.

"You did NOT make copies of the Zack Addy tape!" Okay, not so calm. "You know he set it up on a loop outside my office!"

Re: The Lounge

[identity profile] canadianpopstar.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
Robin laughed. "I didn't know that, but I think I might love this Zack Addy person even more now," she told him. "Does he know about Swarley?"

"Barney hit his head and thought he was the principal, named Mick Jagger," she added in explanation to Lily and Ted, gesturing to the DVDs. "And I have more copies," she added to Fraser.

Re: The Lounge

[identity profile] and-lilypad.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
Lily looked at her DVD like it was the prettiest thing she'd ever seen in her life. "I'm very sorry about the energy crisis and all, but this baby is staying on loop 24/7 at least until Christmas," she said happily.

Re: The Lounge

[identity profile] architectmosby.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
"This is going on YouTube. The world needs to see it," Ted said.

Re: The Lounge

[identity profile] just-add-starch.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
"You left this piece of information out when you came to see me today," Fraser said, snickering at Barney. "Did you forget who you were again?"

Re: The Lounge

[identity profile] suit-of-awesome.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Laugh it up, Mountie! I'm sure you didn't get amnesia with the rest of Fandom last month and do anything stupid," Barney glared. "Should I go find some old podcasts now?"

Re: The Lounge

[identity profile] just-add-starch.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
"It was a logical question," Fraser said because he thought so. "After all, you've found it necessary to share so much information with me already. I just thought perhaps this slipped your mind. It's all right, I can forgive you."
