Arms Hotel Lobby, Saturday [4/10]

Ellie was not sure what to make of this day. One would think she'd have been prepared for this after hearing about alternate universe children showing up in the past. that would not be the correct assumption, though. At least Stephanie seemed like a good kid. Which is why Ellie didn't feel too terrible leaving her with Jennifer while she went to work.

The boggling was not about to end now. Not if Charlotte Bartowski had anything to say about it.

"Hi, Mommy!" Once again, there was a wee person hugging Ellie.

Charlotte just sighed, shaking her head. "Silly, Mommy. My name is Charlotte Morgana Bartowski."

Charlotte just rolled her eyes. "No, Morgan is Daddy's name."

"What's so funny, Mommy?" Charlotte asked, confused.

"Daddy always says there are alt'nate realities," Charlotte said. "And you always tell him he doesn't know what he's talking 'bout. But I think he might be right."

Charlotte grinned eagerly "Can I have a cheeseburger and fries? And then can I see Uncle Chuck? Is he here?"

Eddie found his way to the hotel with his little half-brother in tow. He was disappointed initially to see that his mother wasn't working, but the girl at the front desk was kind of cute.

"Hey gorgeous," he said, stepping up to the desk with his most charming smile. "Don't think I've seen you here before.

Louis just rolled his eyes. Why did his brother have to flirt with every girl they ran into?

"I'm sure you could be very helpful," said Eddie. "Maybe you could just give us the key to her room and we could go find her."

Louis looked up at Ellie with wide eyes. "Our mom lives here!" he said.

"Her name's Mary!" said Louis, grinning. "My name is Louis Connell Cannon, and this is my brother Eddie. We've got the same mommy, but we have different daddies."

"Louis, I think that's pretty obvious," said Eddie. "Anyway, miss, if you just give us the key to her suite, we can find our way there. That is, if she's living in the same suite."

"That works," said Eddie, leaning against the front desk. "And until she gets down here, that gives us some more time to get acquainted."

And Louis was rolling his eyes again. "You sound just like Uncle Danny," he said.

When Mary got downstairs to the lobby, she wasn't surprised to see children. She just didn't make any connection between herself and the children.

"Ellie, I forgot to let you know earlier, but if you get any guests asking about extra beds, tell them that we have plenty roll-away beds and cribs available," said Mary. "I always plan ahead for the special arrivals on prom weekend."

Ellie was not going to be disappointed.

Louis wasted no time launching himself at Mary. "Mommy!" he said, clinging to her leg.

"Yo, Mom," said Eddie. "I know it's not your weekend, but Louis was an idiot and was playing chicken with a portal."

And Mary? She was look back and forth between the boys with a stunned look on her face.

"Oh yeah," said Mary to Ellie. "I've had children show up before, two years ago when I was still engaged. They were a three-year-old twins, a boy and a girl."

She crouched down a little bit to look on the same level as Louis. "So, you're Louis? How old are you?"

"I'm seven, and Eddie is ten going on seventeen according to my daddy," said Louis.

"That works. Let housekeeping know if anyone needs extra roll-away beds for their surprise visitors, and I'll be in my suite if you need anything else," Mary said to Ellie.

"Okay, boys. We're going upstairs and then we're going to figure out if we can reach your daddies on the phone," she said, taking Louis by the hand.

Eddie was not far behind them, though he stopped to wink at Ellie before heading for the elevator.

Chuck's head hurt. A lot.

And Ellie's was probably going to also, if the two children he herded through the door in front of him affected her in any similar way to how they had him.

"See? Aunt Ellie. Go... say hi."

Sorry Ellie, you're about to get pounced by small children. Have fun!

"Tell him I'm 'llowed to exist!" Megan complained immediately.

Obviously this had been the topic of conversation for a while beforehand because Theo piped up with a, "It doesn't work that way!"

And now Ellie was getting dragged into the debate. Chuck was internally facepalming.

"Daddies don't have babies," Theo said logically. Which was also Chuck's cue to facepalm. Oh god, he still didn't want to think about this. Any of this.

"But he diiiiiid," Megan whined, stomping a tiny foot to make her point. "Did, did, did!"

"I have two mommies!" Stephanie announced helpfully.

"Are they my cousins from another 'verse?" Charlotte asked.

Ellie just stared. "Oh god. Please tell me her dad is not who I think it is?"

There wasn't enough alcohol in the world to deal with this.

"... I don't think I can tell you that." Because her look of horror was pretty telling and often reserved for just that person.

"See, she exists too!" Megan crowed, glad to have finally found someone who could back her up on this.

"Can't be yours he's mine!" So possessive. In a whiny sort of way. Lucky she was cute enough to almost counteract that tendency.
