Arms Hotel Lobby, Saturday [4/10]

Ellie was not sure what to make of this day. One would think she'd have been prepared for this after hearing about alternate universe children showing up in the past. that would not be the correct assumption, though. At least Stephanie seemed like a good kid. Which is why Ellie didn't feel too terrible leaving her with Jennifer while she went to work.

Chuck's head hurt. A lot.

And Ellie's was probably going to also, if the two children he herded through the door in front of him affected her in any similar way to how they had him.

That's okay, because Chuck was about to get pounced by a small child as well. Charlotte ran over, squealing, "Uncle Chuck!"

Ellie smiled, looking at the small children who had just clung to her. "Hi there."

"Tell him I'm 'llowed to exist!" Megan complained immediately.

Obviously this had been the topic of conversation for a while beforehand because Theo piped up with a, "It doesn't work that way!"

And now Ellie was getting dragged into the debate. Chuck was internally facepalming.

"Daddies don't have babies," Theo said logically. Which was also Chuck's cue to facepalm. Oh god, he still didn't want to think about this. Any of this.

"But he diiiiiid," Megan whined, stomping a tiny foot to make her point. "Did, did, did!"

"I have two mommies!" Stephanie announced helpfully.

"Are they my cousins from another 'verse?" Charlotte asked.

Ellie just stared. "Oh god. Please tell me her dad is not who I think it is?"

There wasn't enough alcohol in the world to deal with this.

"... I don't think I can tell you that." Because her look of horror was pretty telling and often reserved for just that person.

"See, she exists too!" Megan crowed, glad to have finally found someone who could back her up on this.

"Morgan," Ellie said, trying not to flail.

"That's my daddy!" Charlotte chimed in.

Ellie kind of wanted to bang her head against a wall now.

Stephanie, who wanted to visit her mommy at work after all because her mommy's player is lame and forgot she was not supposed to be there, added, "I exist! Why wouldn't I?"

"Can't be yours he's mine!" So possessive. In a whiny sort of way. Lucky she was cute enough to almost counteract that tendency.

"Nuh uh! Mine!" Charlotte said, equally whiny.

"Hey, did you forget about the alt'nate 'verses?" Stephanie said helpfully.

Ellie couldn't help laughing at Stephanie's take charge attitude. Just like her Mommy. "She's right. He is your dad. In different universes."

Now Ellie could feel her brain shattering.
