Re: Backstage
He sighed, his hand falling to his side and his shoulders slumping a little.
"I did," he admitted. "But you know I was far more worried about you. And not because of the bloody show. Mind, you don't exactly look as though you went crashing up against Magneto and the Phoenix all in one go, really."
Go on, Karla. Tell him the Juggernaut was there. See him have an aneurysm.
Re: Backstage
If Karla'd known then what she knew now, she might not have been so mouthy to Jean in the mansion.
"As it is, I'm going to have a bitch of a headache for awhile. She's very...loud. Like a psionic hurricane."
Re: Backstage
Karla, meet the overprotective older brother you never had.
Re: Backstage
...No matter how dryly she ever said that, inwardly she would always be very sincere when she did.
"I told you I would save him," she replied. "Kitty and I had to outrun the Juggernaut to do it, but we did. He's with the X-men now."
Re: Backstage
See Jono. See Jono put a hand to the side of his head as though he was swiftly developing a headache. He'd thrown down against Cain on more than one occasion, thanks.
"What the hell does he even care about a mutant cure, anyhow?" A beat. "No, you know, I don't think I want to know. Leech is safe, you're safe, even if you look like you were flattened by a bus. I'll take it."
And a hug. Because today was crazy day.
Re: Backstage
Re: Backstage
"Crashed into a bridge."
He was going to sigh and shake his head.
"One of these nights, I'm taking you out for drinks. And you can tell me the story from front to back. While you get me drunk, because I'm going to sodding well need it."
Re: Backstage
Jono was probably shocked to hear it.
"He's staying with the X-men, I think," she said instead. "Going to their school."
Re: Backstage
"That's good, then. Better than growing up underground with the Morlocks. Won't be easy for him, though." He frowned a little. "Kids won't like that he turns their powers off, at least in a few cases."
Re: Backstage
Not that was she certain how large his area of affect was, but she was pretty sure some kind of accommodation could be made.
"He's not green in Warren's world," she added. "He looks no different than any human boy. I don't know how anyone even knew he was a mutant in the first place."
Re: Backstage
"Not every mutant looks like a mutant," he noted. "But the first time he walked past somebody who did and wound up reversing their mutation on them, it would've been fairly clear. The Leech I know, green or not, had to learn to control his power. He and I lived on the same campus, you know."
Picture that, if Leech didn't have that self-control, Karla.
Re: Backstage
"Then maybe he'll get a chance to learn it at the mansion," she said. "...Is it wrong that I just want to bring him home with me? Keep him safe and protected so he can't be hurt by anyone else again."
All the Leeches, really. All of them.
