Luke's, Sunday
Pancakes.
Of course, the special for the day was pancakes. It had been pancakes for years, now. It would probably be pancakes for years to come.
But this was also the first week for... probably also years to come... that Kanan knew he wouldn't have one of his regulars coming in to give the kitchen staff hell over it, and with that in mind, after a few pokes from the cook, he sighed and said, "Fine. Might as well get out the things for waffles too."
Compromise. Or utter defeat. One of those two things.
Welcome to Luke's!
Sunday Specials:
Pancakes and/or Waffles!
Choose your favorite toppings!
Either way, Kanan was having himself a waffle and a pancake, either in the name of giving both a fair shake, or maybe in the name of making more work for the cook. So there.
He missed Summer already.

She liked to think she could one day get used to everyone without gloves, but that wasn't something she had a whole lot of hope for.
"What is it like where you're from?" she asked. "And what are your people like? Is it very different from here?"

Safer than home, anyway.
"My people were," he realized he'd spoken in the past tense only a moment too late and barrelled on without pause anyway, "something else entirely. Warriors, yes, but scholars, too. The peacekeepers of our galaxy, part of a tradition going back tens of thousands of years."
