Midsummer Festival - The Beach, Saturday Evening

Sure it was a week late. And sure it wasn't even a traditional Midsummer festival because there weren't any games or people selling fried foods or screaming eyeballs in the sky.

But Magnus was pretty darn proud of what had been tossed together for a fun costume party on the beach.

With a big, mildly terrifying wicker bear waiting to be set on fire because something something Midsommar. He wasn't sure of the details because scary movies weren't his jam.

Either way, it would be good, clean fun!

He thought that maybe it was kinda that first year, but then... their lives kinda imploded and it got shoved to the side and now it was just this weird friendship that made people think they were married.

"Steven has a very nice girlfriend who somehow puts up with him."

Until she really got those abandonment issues up in a tizzy by bouncing.

Duke’s whole look was somehow a popular one in the multiverse, EVEN WITHOUT IT BEING A CASE OF DUPLICATE PBS.

“Nah, he up and disappeared with a few others last fall.” Which Duke had very carefully tried not to think about for a long time. “Probably around the time I got the diner, actually.”

Duke was all set to pay the rent on it if anyone ever actually asked him for any. Not that Octavia seemed to have any plans to ever go back again, after her little smash-fest.

It was possible that Danny would become the business owner if he went over to that apartment building. So. That was a thing.

He still looked dubious about this. "It's just a place to sleep."

Nevermind how he'd be able to relax if he had his own space. Also his own kitchen. Because he was a big ol' Italian grandma deep down inside.
