Caritas; Wednesday [07/28].

After getting a load of what Summer had put together for her jello shot theme that evening, all Tino could do was complain about how it wasn't fair that apparently Summer wasn't being banned from the Olympics, but he was.

"Yeah," said Summer, "I'm pretty sure there's a big difference between thematic jello and shotputting from the karaoke stage, Tino."

Maybe she could just convince him to pole-vault himself right into the trash or something, though.

"Ohgod," Summer snorted, "you have vacation photos? Am I going to have to sit through a slide-show to see them, or are you going to be normal and just post them to Insta so I can just like all of them while mindlessly scrolling through them and telling you I totally checked them all out, clearly, I liked them, didn't I?"

She was joking, of course!

"A lot of them are photos for Amaya," Seivarden said. "And if you started liking pictures of engines on Insta I'd know you weren't actually looking."

She handed over her phone with moddable photos from Athoek station and Mercy of Kalr, with and without people. Including some of Breq, who didn't seem to notice they were being taken.

"I like engines!" Summer protested, as she took the phone and started scrolling through them with mild interest, and the occasional peaks of intrigue, especially at those Breq shots, don't even think Summer wouldn't notice and read into those, Seivarden! "I pretty much brought my ship back from the brink of being nothing more than scrap metal with my own two hands, you know."

A pause.

A few swipes.

"Well, my two hands, and Hera's, anyway, but you get the point."

"Yes, but not quite like Amaya," Seivarden said. "Or maybe I haven't noticed because you have other interests that you talk more about."

She added: "Not a criticism of Amaya."

Then she pointed at the screen. "That's Mercy of Kalr."

Summer had to snort a little at the not a criticism. "Of course not," she said. "Amaya is just very...we'll say...focused..."

But Summer was considered the pictures of Mercy of Kalr with a little more interest now that it was pointed out to her. "That's the name of the ship, right?" she said. "And you guys do the whole AI thing too..."

"Mmm." Summer just gave sort of a thoughtful hum at that, as she swiped through a few more photos, figuring she'd gotten past most of the ship ones once Breq started showing up again, so she handed the phone back to Seivarden.

"I will give you guys this, though. You've got some sweet af tech out there."
