J,GOB, Wednesday afternoon
Rosa had an appointment on the island to look at an apartment she'd found advertised on Craig's List, but the less time she spent in the MICA dorms with her perpetually stoned roommate, the better. So she got to the island a bit early, figuring she could get the lay of the land and figure out if it was actually a place she thought she could live.
It looked, to her admittedly limited experience, very European. And there was art everywhere. She'd spotted at least a few murals graffiti-ed onto buildings as she walked in from the causeway, and while there were two bars (one for locals, one for tourists, she assumed, or maybe one was LGBT and the other was for the straights?), there were also plenty of places to eat or grab a snack that didn't look like they catered too much to the drugs-and-booze crowd.
So, you know, her sponsor would approve, at least.
She decided to grab a seat in the little bakery she found, tucked in by the window where she could people-watch as she picked apart her cinnamon strudel muffin. And try once again to google "Baltimore neighborhoods Fandom" and find out a little more about this weird little place she was looking to move to.
[HELLO A NEWBIE IS IN TOWN! Considering the number of graffiti artists we've had on the island already, I figure there should be at least a few murals for my little graffiti artist to be impressed by.
So very open!]

"'Quirks'," Rosa echoed. "Well. I guess it could be worse. You don't have, like, a white supremecist militia in town, do you?"

“Definitely one up on Roswell, then,” Rosa said. “Not that that’s a high bar.”

"I'm a student at MICA," Rosa said. "Didn't like the dorms."

"The . . . Maryland College Institute of Art?" Rosa said. "Do you like never go into Baltimore or something?"
To be fair, most people probably didn't pay a lot of attention to the various colleges in town.

"Hence the murals?" Rosa guessed.
