Was it tacky to advertise for your big party on the weekend during your bar shift on Wednesday? Did Summer really care?

Because you could definitely bet Summer was going to try and tell everyone about that party, and, even if she didn't get around to it, she had a few ubiquitous flyers up around the place and smaller little print-outs advertising for the Big Beefcake Birthday Blowout Bash (sorry, Eliot; like a magpie, this one, but she did, clearly, improve on it), juuuust in case anyone missed it.

Look, she had to cover all of her bases. She was pretty sure she might actually die if she threw a party and, like, no one showed up. Forget parasitic brain eaters, evil galactic empires, the breaking of time and space as we know it....a bad party was, like, the most terrifying thing in the entire multiverse.

"We most certainly do," said Summer, already lining up the shots for Lucifer before sliding a flyer his way. "This Saturday, Goose's apartment, which is MHA #10. I do hope you make an appearance, Mr. Morningstar. Especially since I also come bearing this."

And here was the point where Summer lugged a big ceramic jar out from somewhere under the bar and set it carefully in front of him, dwarving the shots.

"Your super celestial boozelahol," she announced. "There's a shit ton more for you at the lab, too, but you'll have to get that yourself, I am not dragging it all to the boat for you. It's probably enough to actually sink that boat."

"Oh, fantastic," Lucifer said, reaching for the jar and pulling it towards it. "Thank you so much. I'll stop by the lab... sometime when I find out where it is?"

And just like that, Summer had out a bar napkin and was jotting down a map.

"Just knock and tell him Summer sent you," she advised. "He will definitely be there. I swear, he barely seems to ever leave that place anymore these days."

Said with the long-suffering sigh of a person whose significant other was threatening to become yet another shamelessly modded NPC.

"Hm-hm, m-hm," Lucifer said, nodding as he studied her map. "So how did you wind up organizing this bash?" he added casually.

He was either not going to show up by virtue of being clingy with his partners or he was going to show up and make a spectacle of himself. There were no other options.

"Goose mentioned it was his birthday last week," said Summer, who shrugged, and definitely trusted that Lucifer knew her enough to know that that was it. That was the whole story.

How it grew and took on its own life in the process was a little more involved, sure, but, did she really need more than that?

Lucifer? Understand what it was like to start somewhere and then go completely overboard? Never.

"He's that odd blonde fellow, isn't he?"

"Yes," said Summer with a decisive nod, but, since 'odd blonde fellow' could also cover at least one other person she could think of, she added. "And tall. And he also told me he's never even celebrated a birthday, so, obviously, there a lot of lost time to catch up on."

"So how much glitter should I bring and have you considered an ice luge?"

Right, so that was the direction we were going in. For now.

"Goose was one of the few people who willingly allowed themselves to be glitter-cannoned at the Christmas rager," Summer informed him, "so there isn't enough glitter in the world for these two. And I have not considered an ice luge, but you can bet I'm considering it now."

"Hm," Lucifer said, tilting his head. "Do we have a theme?"

"We do," Summer nodded. "Tasteful 80s retro space theme, because, my god, the hair on those boys. I'm thinking some neon lights in those luges to really bring by the 80s part now. I'm having Margo and Eliot work up a little magic for it, too, I'm thinking a sort of surreal surround of a space scape with shooting stars and, like, star dust or whatever sort of thing."
