Was it tacky to advertise for your big party on the weekend during your bar shift on Wednesday? Did Summer really care?

Because you could definitely bet Summer was going to try and tell everyone about that party, and, even if she didn't get around to it, she had a few ubiquitous flyers up around the place and smaller little print-outs advertising for the Big Beefcake Birthday Blowout Bash (sorry, Eliot; like a magpie, this one, but she did, clearly, improve on it), juuuust in case anyone missed it.

Look, she had to cover all of her bases. She was pretty sure she might actually die if she threw a party and, like, no one showed up. Forget parasitic brain eaters, evil galactic empires, the breaking of time and space as we know it....a bad party was, like, the most terrifying thing in the entire multiverse.

There's definitely a flyer by the stage telling you that karaoke today could be a good warm up for the karaoke at the party on Saturday!

Because of course there's going to be karaoke at the party on Saturday.

Come have some drinks and be badgered to come to a party for people you might not even know! But in Summer's experience, those are some of the best parties!

"So that means I can get a free shot right?" Goose said with a grin as he came up to the bar, "since my birthday was yesterday,"

It was still rather weird talking about his birthday like this.

Considering that Summer had put that there specifically with Goose in mind, it was adorable that he still asked.

"Yes," she confirmed, with an appreciative grin back, "that means you get a free shot."

And she was just going to go ahead and set all of them out for him now, too.

"Happy birthday, by the way. Although the real fun, obviously, will be this weekend."

“Thank you,” Goose grinned as he reached over to get the first shot, “I’m looking forward to it, even though I feel like I should apologise in advance to Jon about how my apartment is going to look after the party,” he admitted and then there was a pause, “do you think anyone’s going to notice the mess I made on the ceiling?” he wasn't sure why that random thought came to him just then.

Goose did not usually have so many people over in his apartment.

"So I feel like you might be throwing a party this weekend," Annie greeted Summer, eyeing the board. "And you know I have to try that second one."

Like, branding.

"I don't know where you could have possibly have gotten that idea," Summer stated, oh-so-blase, as she set down two of the star shots for Annie because, sorry, one was clearly not enough. "I've been just soooo~ooo~oo subtle about it, too!"

That said: "Think you'll be able to make it?"

"Alternate universe kids and the like notwithstanding, I'll be there," Annie said, plucking up one of the shots with a smile. "But the island just went pretty hard on us --" phrasing "--so I doubt it'll be an issue. Who's the party for?"

It had been a few weeks since Stark went anywhere of his own volition (unless you counted crashing on Will's couch last night) and he'd missed multiple Wednesdays for raccoon-related reasons so of course he was going to try and make an appearance at Caritas tonight. He was still sporting yesterday's bandages and favoring his right ankle a bit when he walked, but he was here.

"Hello, Summer. There's a party?"

Summer had been listening to radio this week to see if word of her party was being dropped, so when Stark came in, he was getting sort of a sympathetic, apologetic look as she set the three non-questionable shots for him.

"There iiiiiiis," she confirmed, sliding a flyer over the bar along with the shots. "Saturday, at Goose's place. That's MHA #10, and it's for hid and Gladio's birthday, and it's gonna be hype, so I hope you can make it."

Assuming he didn't get kidnapped by woodchucks next, anyway.

The woodchucks were less likely to strike and the raccoons were probably not going to cause any trouble until they'd repaired their bunker. Future kidnappings weren't likely anytime soon. Probably.

"I'll think about it," Stark said, reaching for the star-shaped shot. "That's a lot of people. But probably no raccoons."

And raccoons were probably not likely to show up if there were a lot of people, so there was that to consider.

"Dude," Steph said from her seat a few stools down, "what happened to you?"

Granted, he looked better than Alex had that one time, but that one time had kind of permanently affected the way Steph was going to react to people walking into a bar looking kind of banged up.

"Raccoons," Stark said, like that explained anything.

"Kidnapping raccoons. They did the kidnapping, I mean. I didn't kidnap any of them." He would never.

"And there was an explosion but that didn't do anything to me." Except maybe make his ears ring a bit.

"Beefcake birthday bash?" Steph asked as she sat down, managing to keep her dubious tone to a minimum.

"Beefcake birthday bash," Summer confirmed, with a nod, sliding the flyer forward in case Steph wanted to investigate further. "It's a birthday party for Goose and Gladio, who are both huge. Don't believe me? Check out the blonde at the end of the bar over there," she quirked her head toward where Goose was presumably still sitting there. "That's Goose. Anyway, it's on Saturday, you should totally check it out, and also, hi! What can I get for you?"

She was pretty sure this was a new face?

Steph shot a look down toward the end of the bar and nodded; the assessment was not inaccurate. "Gotcha. 'cause I was gonna say, as a generic theme, not actually a selling point for me but this? Sounds cool, I could check it out." And like... make an effort at making more friends since she was actually going to be sticking around for a while.

She contemplated the bottles behind the bar for a few moments and finally decided, "Whatever's on tap tonight? Surprise me."

Another pause.

"I'm Steph, by the way. Hi."

There were less awkward ways to greet someone, but Annie had had three jello shots, so effusive friendliness and a bright smile would just have to do a little work to cover for that awkwardness as she sidled up to Steph. "But anyway, hi, I'm Annie! Tell me you're at least kind of newish so I don't feel that bad."

"Oh, we have a party on the horizon?"

Lucifer was at roughly 80% of his usual excitement for such a thing, more or less, if one had a meter to gauge such a thing. He settled at the bar with an eye on the shots list.

"We most certainly do," said Summer, already lining up the shots for Lucifer before sliding a flyer his way. "This Saturday, Goose's apartment, which is MHA #10. I do hope you make an appearance, Mr. Morningstar. Especially since I also come bearing this."

And here was the point where Summer lugged a big ceramic jar out from somewhere under the bar and set it carefully in front of him, dwarving the shots.

"Your super celestial boozelahol," she announced. "There's a shit ton more for you at the lab, too, but you'll have to get that yourself, I am not dragging it all to the boat for you. It's probably enough to actually sink that boat."
