Marc made a mental note to add lessons in how to handle being outnumbered. He didn't mention it, though, not wanting to distract Nell from her current focus. "Good for you. He deserved it."

That answered the question of how she'd gotten out of it. It still did nothing for Marc's opinion of John, which was low enough to be at the bottom of the ocean floor, but that wasn't the issue at the moment. "Didn't know he could fight."

Marc was quietly making note of all of that. After all, it was useful information for teaching Nell how to defend herself against John, even if Marc never mentioned that was a goal they were working on. "What happened to them after? Anything?"

He asked this with no pressure or judgement. After all he of all people know how often the answer was that nothing happened, unless someone like him came along to enact vengeance.

"Not much," Marc admitted. Hey, Nell was sharp. No point lying when she was the one introducing the topic of the unfairness in the first place. He was still trying to get a feel for Nell's world though, so he asked, "They were all human?"

"There's two vampires working bars in this town," Marc pointed out. "Like I f - freaking know if they couldn't be priests or whatever in that church."

Again, nice save on the swearing.

"It's okay," Marc said. "Mainly I'm trying to figure how often you come across people with powers. Fighting with powers is different than without."

"Dime a dozen," Marc agreed. "It's not unusual for me back home but it's not like I bump into them every day. Or ever. I mean on the job yeah but otherwise no."

"No vampires," Marc said, since Blade hasn't come out yet "Don't know about witches. But yeah. People with flight, strength, flashy stuff."

And thus did Marc summarize the entirety of the Avengers.

"I gave up on judging anything strange a long time ago," Marc said. "It's kind of nice. The island's as crazy as I am."
