Homecoming Carnival, The Park, Saturday

It was probably a good thing that most of the carnival was set up on Friday night, so when people woke up as kids, everything else adjusted too. The weather was perfect for playing outside - not that a little rain would stop anyone - and it was time to have fun!

"You want to see more?" Stark asked. "I can take the mask off. If you like. It's not the mask that glows. It's me. I promise."

"I wanna see all of it!" Summer informed him. "I've never seen a person who glows before, I want the full experience."

"There aren't many people who glow to see," Stark said. "The only other one I know here looks very different when she glows. And she doesn't have to wear a mask."

Because she had a whole face and only glowed when she wanted to.

"Here. All the glowing," he continued, removing the mask entirely. "See?"

Yup, okay, that definitely confirmed it. He was glowing, and Summer sort of had to squint a little and lift a hand because, even in the daylight, it was kind of bright, but her nose wrinkled a little because she thought it would be more exciting that that.

"I was thinking there'd be more colors," she said, "or sparkles. Does it hurt, though? Like, is your face burning? It almost looks like it's burning."

"Just the one color, really. Although sometimes it looks more gold than others. But it's not very sparkly." Stark sounded almost apologetic.

"And no. It doesn't hurt." Usually. "Not burning. It just...is. It's not hot. Sometimes it feels warm, I think? To other people. But not hot."
