Homecoming Carnival, The Park, Saturday Daytime

Things were a little quieter as the carnival was being set up this morning, but after the last few days that was kind of a low bar. The weather was perfect for an autumn themed event - a little cool and crisp, but bright and sunny with no advertisements anywhere in sight. What more could anyone ask for?

"Going on holiday with," Steven said. "Learning new languages with. Reading poetry with - which is entirely different from regular reading, mind. Whole other thing. Counts separate."

“Oh, naturally,” Watts agreed readily. “Essentially- most things are better in the company of one’s beau.”

"Even doing nothing at all," Steven agreed. Then a thought occurred to him and he looked hopeful. "Oh! Or having a lie in? Tomorrow?"

“That, my darling, sounds absolutely wonderful,” Watts said. “And perhaps surrounding this lie-in there might be other activities that one does not generally discuss in public.”

Steven bumped their shoulders together again. "That shy about breakfast in bed, are we?"

“Oh, breakfast in bed is part of this plan as well?” Watts said. “I hadn’t realised.”

"Could be," Steven said. He thought about what they had at home. "Might have to hit the shops on our way back, make sure we have enough for something."

"Before heading back out to the dance?" Watts said.

Of course, it was entirely possible that by the time they got home they might find themselves... distracted... by activities of the sort that hadn't made it into their earlier discussion.

Steven and Llewellyn get distracted by seeing one another dressed up? What were the odds?

"On our way home from here, perhaps," Steven said. "Long as we're out and about."

Even if there were now fewer places to shop at.

Watts would not take that bet. Of course, Watts wouldn't take any bets, but that wasn't the point.

"Sounds like a plan," Watts said. "Perhaps we could try something meant for the slow cooker, so we simply wake up and breakfast is ready?"

Steven hadn't even considered the slow cooker option, so this bit of brilliance had Steven looking at Llewellyn with heart eyes. "I love you."

"And I you, naturally," Watts said, not certain what had prompted that declaration but happy to go with it all the same.

"You're amazing," Steven told him. Which was really a continuation of his previous thought about loving Llewellyn but perhaps offered insight into why he'd felt the need to declare it. "Brilliant, in fact."

"You're the one who procured the device for us in the first place," Watts pointed out. "Therefore, I think some of the brilliance ought to be credited to you."

"You thought of using it for breakfast tomorrow," Steven said. "So I'll share this credit at most, because I'll not have you not included."

"So long as we are agreed that it ought to be shared," Watts conceded.

Steven pretended to think, then grinned. "I'll allow it. Slight tip in your favor specifically for tomorrow morning though."

"I could argue further, but I find both my mouth and my time better spent doing this," Watts declared, and then there was another kiss happening.

Well Steven was certainly not going to complain about another kiss from Llewellyn. Especially since as previously established, there was no need to wait in line at a booth in order to get one.

“You see? Time well spent,” Watts said triumphantly.

"Very well spent," Steven had to agree. He ran his hand down Llewellyn's tie, unnecessarily fixing it from where it had clearly been jostled out of place.

“And best done with one’s beau,” Watts declared. “Or- lady friend, I suppose? For those so inclined.”

"Just a beau for me," Steven said. "I've very firm opinions in that area. I've made my choice and I'm sticking to it."

“Works out nicely, since I have as well,” Watts beamed at him.
