"I am secure and I'm fine," Savannah said. She shook her head. "You know what. I'm not very hungry any longer. In fact, I'm not feeling very well and am pretty worn out from the cheering demonstration. I'm going back to the dorms."

Savannah put her napkin down on the table and she stood up, ready to head for the door.

"You guys have a nice dinner and have fun planning out everyone else's lives."

What? She was cranky and upset and felt like Sue and Paige were trying to make decisions for them no matter what their feelings and opinions were. She was in no way happy with how all of this was going and the last thing she wanted to do was lose her temper.

"Johnny, you come right back here until we sort this out!" Sue called after him. "Or I'll . . . I'll . . . I'll tell Ben what you told me last night!"

Savannah took Johnny's hand, but she turned back and looked at the other two women.

"You should be ashamed of yourself, Sue. You have an awesome brother who gives a damn about other people, cares about their feelings, and wants to make the people he cares about happy and smile. He has the biggest heart of any guy I have ever seen and because he's taking classes you don't get and he's living with a girl, you think you need to tell his parents and disrupt everything he's trying to do. You should be supportive of your family and not shortchange them or disregard their feelings and decisions because he's younger than you. You should be proud of the type of guy your brother is and how he tries to take care of people."

When she turned to look at Paige, she could feel the sting of tears. She felt completely betrayed and hurt by Paige right now and was fighting not to lash out.

"Do I even have to tell you how you're making me feel right now, Paige? I really can't believe all of this right now." She shook her head. "I'm going back to the dorms. If you're going to uproot me when I'm happy and make me leave, I can at least get a good start on packing and saying goodbye to people."

She started heading to the door, doing her best not to break down or lose her temper-- when all she wanted to do was yell.

Paige just stared at the retreating teens for a few moments.

"And they wonder why we don't trust them."

"I don't know," Paige said, also sighing. "Do you think I can trust your brother not to take advantage of Savannah?"

"Savannah could be in danger," Paige said. "She's been kidnapped twice. I'm just trying to look out for her best interests, that's why my fiance and I sent her here."

"What do you mean, he's a hero?" Paige asked.

Paige couldn't help but smile. "Well I think this whole thing suddenly started making a lot more sense."

"My best friend is a half-demon," Paige explained. "Of the non-chaotic variety. And he has fire power. Savannah's known him for a few years and I always suspected she had a bit of a crush on him."

She chuckled softly. "She actually compared Johnny to Adam yesterday. I just didn't realize how deep the comparison ran."

Paige nodded. "It sounds kind of crazy, I guess. But I know Savannah mentioned witchcraft in front of you. It's not something we talk about a lot. Most people don't get it."

She raised an eyebrow. "You have powers too?"

A defensive shield sounded useful. Paige made a mental note to try to find a spell that would replicate something like that. "So you think that they're good for each other?"

Paige nodded. "I really don't want to pull Savannah out of here though. She is really happy here and after everything she's been through, she deserves to be happy."
