Caritas, Saturday evening

D'Argo was there at Caritas tonight. He just was spending pretty much the entire night trying to tape up the zombies again whenever body parts would start falling off.

When an arm fell off of two at once, he looked at them, duct tape in hand, and asked, "Really?"

So it was Tino behind the bar tonight. Mostly because he'd refused to do this part.

"Definitely a different Buffy than I remember," Jamie said with a small grin. "She was just plain perky and ran the cheerleading squad. Sorry, I'm not bringing you down with this stuff am I?"

"No," she said, laughing a little to herself. "I was about to ask you the same. Tried to pick a girl up, ended up hearing about ancient history. Not a great night for you."

"Me? Pick you up?" Jamie teased. "You're the one who threatened to kill me if I mentioned spirit fingers. Oops. Look at that. I just did mention it."

"And now I have to kill you," Faith smirked, taking a long swig of her drink. "Sucks. We were gettin' along so well."

"Does the dying man get a last request?" Jamie asked as he finished off his drink.

Ooooh. He was good.

"I thought it was one last smoke?" she teased, pulling one out of her purse and holding it out.

"Yeah, but I'm not a smoker," Jamie said with his best innocent expression. "Guess that takes that out of the options."

"Dyin' man usually gets a last meal, but I don't cook," she grinned. "Shit. Can't help with that one, neither."

"I'm sure if we put our heads together we can think of something," Jamie said leaning closer.

Very smooth, she thought, leaning back, and ... the hell with her student rules. It was break, wasn't it? He wasn't a student if it was over break.

Later, back in her apartment, Faith remembered a few other things dying men were granted. And all the fun wall-colors that came with them.
