Beach; Sunday Afternoon

Luke was new to town, but that didn't mean he was going to let not knowing how things work around here stop him from his usual activities. It was Fourth of July and there were two things you should do on that day: Watch that movie with Will Smith in it and light some sparklers on fire. He had already done the former and, now that it was getting dark, it was time to blow up shiny things.

He had found a spot on the beach where he wouldn't burn anything down, made a bonfire and then snapped up whatever fireworks he could think of. Sparklers, Roman Candles, Wheels, Snakes, Parachutes, and even some of the bigger ones that may have been less than legal in this country (he was debating on whether or not he'd light those). Truly a pyromaniac's dream come true.

Luke snapped up some burgers and sodas and he was ready to celebrate July 4th in style.

[Impromptu beach party yesss. Hold on, I'm adding OCD There you go!]

"Well, if it makes you feel any better, I probably couldn't have done even that," Hannibal said, shrugging. "Your dad get pissed?"

"Sounds like a pretty thankless thing, being the song of a god," Hannibal said, surprised at how unsurprised he was at meeting someone who was related to the gods and goddesses. "You would think they could do the quests themselves, being gods and all."

"I think it's all about how you do it too," Hannibal said, completely down with the encouraging. "Do you prefer subtly undermining or just outright aggressiveness?"

"So, any ideas on how you'd do that?" Hannibal wondered curiously. "Subterfuge?"

"Oooh, a good plan," Hannibal said, impressed. "Do they normally bicker with each other?"

"Nope," Hannibal said, shrugging. "Not really something I paid much attention to. I'm not related to Zeus, after all."

He knew that guy, at least.

"And they stick the kids in the middle of it just because they can?" he asked, making a face at that.

"So, you're life's kinda sucked," Hannibal said and didn't make it a question. "And now you're here. As far as I know, the gods have left this place alone so far. Maybe you'll get some peace from that."

"I'd call it semi regular," Hannibal said but he did nod. "Attacks, invasions, incursions, that sort of thing. It happens. As far as I know, no one's gotten killed though."

"Where would the fun be in that?" Hannibal asked, smirking.

"Not everyone's human here," Hannibal pointed out. "Wouldn't be right to generalize, would it?"

"Through and through," Hannibal said, nodding. "Totally human. No powers save for the power of sexiness and charm."
