Parents Weekend Mixer - Fandom Community Center, Saturday Evening

As the sun started to go down, the party was only just getting started. The Fandom Community Center was set up and well-lit to receive this weekend's guests. The bar was open and there were nibblies and appetizers on offer all evening. Music was playing most of the night, but not loud enough to hamper conversation. Welcome to the Parents Weekend Mixer, for anyone who wanted to stop in and share in some good company and good cheer!

Aaron hadn't wanted to overstay his welcome so he'd had a quick dinner with Alex (where they'd barely said a word to each other) and was now at the mixer, eating more of the free food and wandering around casually.

Valanice was certainly not going to let one failed attempt to get Rosella to talk to a new boy at this mixer thing stop her. Especially not when there were other gentleman available. She still couldn't find her wayward daughter, but perhaps that simply meant employing a different tact.

"Oh, excuse me, sir," she approached the young man with a kind, but concerned tone. "I am sorry to bother you, but I appear to have misplaced my daughter, Rosella. Have you seen her?"

Scott was pretty much ready to meet anyone who had never met some version of him. He knew he was pretty much hoping for a miracle at this point since everyone in the town seemed to be either a relative or someone his relatives were warning him to stay away from, but it would be against his nature to abandon all hope.

Since the opposite of abandoning all hope was drinking punch, he had a cup of that.

Sorry Scott. At this point in time, Bobby's met a couple of you. Whiiiiich would be why he was sidling up to Scott and reaching out to give him a friendly clap on the back (that was strong enough to send that punch flying, if it connected). "Scooter! Long time no see!" It wasn't his Scott, that much he knew from a) radio and b) a lack of emo stubble. But that wasn't gonna stop him from pestering him saying hi.

Scott looked at his newly empty cup, then the punch on the floor, and then over to Bobby. "I kind of figured you were going to be the Bobby Emma mentioned."

"Wait, did you call me Scooter?"

Well, this looked like a fine, upstanding gentleman. And popular, too! Valanice knew it was unlikely that anything more would come out of this mixer than any of the many balls held in Daventry's Court, but she just couldn't resist the temptation.

"Rosella, come along!"

And, with that, thinking her daughter was obediently in tow and that she hadn't just turned around and went far in the other direction, Valanice approached the boy and said, "Pardon me, sir, but have you had the honor of meeting my daughter, Rosella?"

Who should have been right there....

"Now, where has she gone to now? Oh, my..."

Kitty was really hoping to meet some new people here. If they were related to anyone she knew, in this universe or any other, that was especially cool. So she had a drink, but was mainly trying to keep the dancing to head bobbing, since the priority was on talking.

"You didn't warn me that I was related to people here," Scott said immediately when he approached Kitty.

Of course Alfred would be here instead of the bar in town. Because he was a stick in the mud classy and far too mature to be drinking away the trauma of talking unicorns.

He raised Bruce Wayne, damn it. Nerves of steel, this man.

Dani didn't have any visitors this weekend, but that wasn't going to keep her from getting out and enjoying a good party. She was definitely dressed to impress and was taking advantage of the drinks.

Free food, and the possibility of meeting alternate versions of people he knew? Bobby was so there.

Mrs. Hudson felt that the boys needed some alone time, perhaps to make up from their little tuft, and she knew that her ordering them champagne and strawberries through room service was sure the exacerbate things. This just meant she had to find something to keep her own self occupied, give them some privacy for the evening, and she'd spent a wonderful time shopping about the quaint little village. And now she found herself at the mixer, rather impressed and pleased to see that there was an open bar.

Far be it from Mrs. Hudson to enjoy a wee bit of a nip every now and then.

The open bar was rather tempting.

And a lovely woman of a certain age being there as well was all Alfred needed to make his move. "Hello."

Smooooth, Alfred. Smoooth.

Leave it to Valanice to think that the mixer was by far the most charming of events and exactly where her children would like to spend the evening, dancing gaily and mingling with the crowds just like a grand ball back home in Daventry! She would like to state, for the record, that there was no uncouth dragging of the children here. Not at all! They were merely reluctant do to them being teenagers and it was just how they were.

Right?

Either way, she couldn't help commenting, "Oh, this is lovely! A bit...rowdier than one might find at home, true, but just lovely. Have fun, you too, but not too much! Remember, one must conduct themselves to exemplify their titles."

...yeah, no, Valanice. Just...no.

Still, Alexander figured it could have been worse. He could have been dragged to this all by his lonesome with the obligation to keep Valanice company and hear her go on and on and on about his education. But, thankfully, Rosella was here and Rosella was absolutely seething, so he couldn't help be amused.

There was a sort of party thing going on? Tinny wasn't going to miss it, especially if good company and good drinks were involved. Maybe she would even dance. Or at least bob her head a bit.

Even though such moments were few and far between, Rosella was trying to sneak as much time away from her mother's watchful eye as possible. After all, there had to be something interesting here, right?

Besides Alexander, of course.

As Scott made his way through the crowd, he spotted a girl with blonde hair and a white dress and decided he might as well see what all of that was about earlier. "Excuse me," he said. "Are you Rosella?"

After her run-in with Bill -- and no luck at the hotel -- Sookie figured that at this point, unless Eric and Pam were actually at the mixer, she was just going to give up looking for them.

She'd promised she'd meet Bobby there, anyway, so as shaken as she was by the encounter with Bill, she put that aside as she arrived, scanning the new faces and shoving her shields more firmly into place.

After harassing talking to Scott, Bobby's gaze scanned the crowd once again to check and see if Sookie had shown up and oh! There she was. Smirking, he wandered over. "No luck finding them?" he asked, more hopeful than concerned about that fact.

Alexander, admittedly, was having a fairly good time at this. It was rare that something like this could take his mind off of missing Cassima, but, apparently, the balm to that particular sorrow was taking joy from his sister's pain.
