After her run-in with Bill -- and no luck at the hotel -- Sookie figured that at this point, unless Eric and Pam were actually at the mixer, she was just going to give up looking for them.

She'd promised she'd meet Bobby there, anyway, so as shaken as she was by the encounter with Bill, she put that aside as she arrived, scanning the new faces and shoving her shields more firmly into place.

"Nope," she said with a tiny smile, sighing as she sipped her drink. "No, those vampires, I did not find. Make any new friends?"

Sookie craned her neck, trying to find where this version of Scott might be. She figured he was the one with the glasses.

"Bill," she said, looking back at his question. "Jessica's version. He was...different. How'd this Scott hold up to your version? 'Cause my Bill is not much like this Bill I saw."

"I'm okay," she assured him, smiling a little. "Different...um, nicely. He was kind of sweet. Sad. I gave him a hug. Other me broke up with him, I think, or they're having trouble. He told me about twenty-six year-old me."

She twined her fingers through his, giving his hand a little squeeze. "Sort of? I mean, in a lot of ways, it's sort of where I'd always figured I'd be in ten or so years if I hadn't come here. Living with Tara, working at Merlotte's. I made it clear to him that I'm not her, and I won't be, though. He was much sweeter than my Bill, though." Sookie paused, and added, "I think he understood that I'm way too young for him, since he's used to older me, you know?"
