JGOB | Early Afternoon | Saturday | October 2

Yesterday had been a complete surprise for Bod. He hadn't expected Silas and hadn't even been ready for something of that magnitude to happen to him so even a day later, he was still wound up and more than a little energetic.

Bod had plans to meet Silas this morning but the older man wasn't there yet. Bod didn't know where he'd gone after they'd departed but he knew better than to think about it too hard. For the moment, he was sitting alone, drinking something warm and picking at the muffin in front of him.

Silas hadn't told him much about what he and the Honour Guard had been doing since he'd last seen Bod but he hoped that would change today. He wanted to hear about where Silas had gone, if he'd returned to the graveyard and if he'd seen the last of the Jacks eliminated.

It was hard to just sit there when his mind was buzzing with so many different things but he knew Silas would only chide him and give him a very cool, very assessing look if he was found to be out of control. So, he'd stay there for now and wait for his guardian.

[Totally open, yep, if you wanna bother Bod or meet Silas (a little later when I get him into the post) or just wanna use the business for yourself!]

"Bod has no issue with what I am," Silas said, "so what I am has no bearing on this situation and it has no bearing on me being his guardian. I would hate to find you assume otherwise."
vanillajello: (I'll spell it out for you.)

"I didn't say it was any of those things," Kate pointed out. "You asked me who I thought you were, and I told you. You didn't ask who I thought Bod thinks you are."

"Who does Bod think I am?" Silas asked, repeating the question to see if she truly knew what she was talking about.
vanillajello: (My lip does this thing.)

"Only he can tell you that," she replied. It was the truth, as far as she was concerned. "I just know you're important to him. You're one of the people he pretty much owes his life to."

And by 'pretty much' she meant 'totally'.

Silas didn't react. His eyes slid away from Kate and in the direction of where Bod had disappeared. The boy would be fine but Silas was apologetic anyway.

"I think we've talked enough," Silas said, standing and effectively dismissing Kate. "Good luck with...not being Scarlett."
vanillajello: (Disillusioned youth.)

"Don't need luck," Kate said. "Just need to be me."

She wasn't going to bother with saying it had been nice to meet him, because really, it hadn't.

Without another word, Silas slipped away and was gone as quickly as he'd arrived. He planned to give Bod the night and would find him tomorrow.
vanillajello: (Everything sucks.)

Meanwhile, Kate sank into one of the chairs at the now deserted table. Her legs were actually kind of trembling because she was finally letting them, so she'd be here a while, rubbing her temples and recuperating.

Ugh, the things that happened in her life nowadays.
