Homecoming Dance | Town Hall | Friday Evening | Post I

Glitter seemed to be a theme of the evening. There was glitter on the posters covering the walls, glitter on the plants printed on table cloths. Glitter on the fake full moon hanging in place of a mirror ball.

And of course, glitter on the banner hanging above the entrance.

There was even (edible) glitter on the food and in the (unspiked) punch. Truly, this was the glitteriest werewolf bar mitzvah ever.

This was Juliet's last Homecoming as a student, and she was actually psyched about it. The theme was a little .... Fandom, but she was inclined to find it quaint.

She arranged the ruffles on her dress (http://cdn.is.bluefly.com/mgen/Bluefly/eqzoom85.ms?img=317931401.pct&outputx=738&outputy=700&level=1&ver=6) just so before stepping toward the dance floor. Tonight was a night to get her groove on.

Victor had managed to find a suit he felt like he looked decent in, even if all the black made him feel a little like an undertaker. He shot Olive an apologetic look once he read the banner. He doubted this matched her dreams of a normal Homecoming.

Sia had never been to a school dance before, barely knew what homecoming was, wasn't even completely sure she wanted to be here, and still looked completely awesome anyway.

As a graduate, Jack was invited.

As a lycanthrope, he was going to sulk about the theme in the corner until someone dragged him out. (Or, more likely, until he spotted someone he wanted to speak with -- Jack's sulks only lasted so long.) His curse was not a joke, and anyhow he hated washing glitter out of things.

Rilla, knowing the theme, had picked a dress (http://pastperfectvintage.com/pasttreasures/1915beadedgauze1.jpg) that would be improved by copious amounts of glitter being dumped on it. She'd pulled her hair back in a low, loose knot, which reminded her starkly of Ken.

She breathed a little prayer that he was all right tonight as she glanced around at the Council's handiwork.

Olive, who had been dressed (http://www.windsorstore.com/Shop/Dresses/Cocktail-Dresses/Black-Mint-Lace-Homecoming-Dress/p/150719), styled and made up to perfection by Sparkle earlier, raised a brow at the sign. "I feel like that's sort of insensitive to actual werewolves," she noted. "I mean, if the theme was like, 'gangly redheaded girls who make bad decisions,' I'd feel a little weird about it. I guess it goes with Halloween, though?"

Yeul was dressed the way she usually was, though she was wearing her hair down, rather than up today.

She looked around, trying to see who she knew was present, and enjoyed the decorations.

Liara turned up eventually - she had purchased a ticket, after all - wearing one of the dresses she had bought with Karolina's help not too long ago.

It was yellow, with a white trim, and she felt vaguely foolish in it.

Topher had an actual suit on, and it was probably the first time anyone had ever seen him in one, so that was exciting.

He also had a plate of snacks and a Billy, which meant that he probably wasn't going to spend the whole time gawking at decorations. Hooray!

Cara was not wearing her leathers, and wishing she'd lied to Kahlan about the dance part of Homecoming or gotten to the portal before promises about wardrobe had been forcibly extracted.

She shoved her hands awkwardly in her pockets, at least she'd been able to get the 'no dresses' across to the hapless salesperson this afternoon without bloodshed.

Alec was here. For some reason.

He'd done a terrible job of picking a suit that looked nice on him, though, and almost kind of wished he'd had the foresight to ask Sparkle to double-check his appearance before he left the dorms.

Oh, and now that that thought had hit him, he was blushing. Wonderful.

Wesley almost wouldn't have come this weekend, but Cordelia had all but shoved him out the door with a suit draped over his arm and a ticket for his portal, so strictly speaking, he really didn't have much choice.

He felt more than a little awkward, and he kept getting startled by bits of werewolf decoration on the ceiling, but he was here.

Mat wasn't going to let a small thing like the upcoming end of the world at home stop him from coming to a dance.

Because come on. It was a dance! With dancing! And girls wearing dresses that showed skin!

Why no, it mattered not in the slightest to him that he was married, but thanks for asking!

He adjusted the sleeves of his green wool coat (thick with gold embroidery), checked the black scarf around his neck, and went to mingle.
