Vette was totally going to do this. Sure, she had no idea what was even expected at a homecoming dance, but that wasn't going to stop her from actually scratching this one off of her bucket list.

It really was a crying shame that two steps into the door she promptly turned into a bluebird.

Really? REALLY?

Don't even ask how Sparkle the weasel managed to find his way into a little tiny bowtie. However he had done it, it certainly looked pretty darn dapper, and it meant that he was the best dressed weasel in the entire homecoming dance. That was good enough for him.

When Sabine figured out that she probably couldn't just wear her armor (something she was starting to get annoyed about), she'd had two criteria for what to wear: it needed color, and she'd probably be massively uncomfortable in a skirt. After all, what if something attacked? And those two simple criteria had left her with not many options, so she was in this. She'd managed to stitch together the front so it wasn't nearly as revealing and she still felt exposed, and she'd had to cut way down on the number of weapons she was wearing, which felt wrong when one of your criteria was potential attack-based.

Eh, at least she was proud of the art.

Jaina got here, looked around, tilted her head at some of the decor- she recognized it from her universe, and knew how wrong some of it looked in this context- and oh look, she already had orange glitter on her. She hadn't even touched anything yet.

Bobby... was in a tuxedo, at least? Sort of. Because he was currently a penguin. Except he was a baby penguin, so instead of a classy black tux it was a fluffy grey one. Shut up.

At least he also had a bow tie, thanks, Uma. That’s right, Sparkle, you weren’t the only one totally nailing this particular look.

Not only did Sidon have his particularly fancy crown, cravat, and epaulets on for the event, but it would seem that he also had himself an unexpected date! He felt a little bad, really, that Norman hadn't turned back to normal in time for the dance, but he also felt that there was no reason why that should exclude him from the festivities, especially as a fellow member of the student council that had worked so hard to make this wonderful event happen. For now, Norman would even have a great view of the dance from Sidon's shoulder, though he suspected he'd let the little guy run about on his own for a good portion of it, so long as he took care not to get under too many dancing feet or didn't wind up somehow in the punch bowl.

Even after the disastrous fiasco that was yesterday's kissing booth did a real quick number on Prompto's ego, it was hard for him to not feel confident as hell striding into the homecoming dance all decked out in full Kingsglaive attire. Sure, he wasn't officially a member yet, but he was going to be, and Noctis was the one who sent it to him to wear tonight, and if Noctis said it was okay, it was okay, just as long as Gladio never found about it because he'd freak the hell out.

....he did look pretty amazing in it, though, if he did say so himself.

Having a dinosaur with him probably helped a bit, too.

Listen, just because your roommate was a waist-high baby T-rex didn't mean he should have to skip out on homecoming, right? And clearly Jason was going to be in good company because what was this, half the student body were also animals right now? Which, sure, Prompto definitely wanted to happen some day to him, but he was feeling really glad that today was not that day.

Guess the whims had gone this way, this time: Ezra had turned up on the island, complete with the same hotel room he'd had during last year's Homecoming. And so he also turned up at the dance, clad from head to toe in something expensive that he had not spent a single dime on.

The decorations made him tilt his head to the side a little, and look amused.

To say Astrid was a little awkward and nervous coming in to the dance was an understatement. She nearly turned back with the intention of just hiding out in her room at least half a dozen times, each and every one of them tied to the fact that she was pretty sure she looked just as ridiculous as she felt. Her new red hair done up poorly in a sort-of bun, wrapped in the the only dress she had that could be considered nice, the one Starr had picked out for her, the one her mother had called a 'sadly hopeful pink dress ', hobbling in on the heels Starr had picked out to match. What had Ingrid called those? 'those bridesmaid, promise- of-prom-night pumps'. An outfit picked out for her by a born-again former stripper who didn't even know anything about her.

It was the same thing she wore the last time she saw her mother. Well, except for the hair. The only thing she really had to wear to a thing like this.

Astrid breathed out slowly, and forced herself to keep going. She felt ridiculous, but she might as well make her appearance and get it over with.

Look. It was Summer's first post-graduation homecoming, and, true, while she had pretty much already come home, she wasn't going to let being a squirrel at the moment stop her from being there! She might try to stick to spots close to the exit or conveniently shielding decorations or tables, just in case fate decided to be all funny at her again, sure, but she was there, and she was going to enjoy herself and she was going to also enjoy some of that spiked punch.

She was a squirrel now. It's just what squirrels did.

Of course Yang was here, she had a kick-ass dress and people to flirt with. It was time to party.

It really was a shame Hannibal wouldn't get to see Jono all dressed up for the occasion. In lieu of that, he'd dressed in a lovely deep purple three-piece suit, with the requisite viper as nicely contrasting pocket square.

He could swear Jono looked smug over not having to dress up.

Cade took a look around at the decor and burst out laughing hard enough to seriously threaten the seams of his far-too-tight leather pants.

Take your pictures, together or singly, in front of lovely backgrounds of water and coral reefs, and also a Mon Calamarian dressed as a vampire, or a baby shark dressed like a cowboy.

After many, many years of this place, Jaina had learned to appreciate some of the ways this island found to be ridiculous. Which was why she had to stop by to get a picture of her with the vampire Mon Cal, just to send to Jag later, with absolutely no explanation.

There was a table with plenty of food and beverages, and two bowls of punch, and a notecard in front of them reading "THIS ONE IS SPIKED" to be put up when one of the bowls was actually spiked.

The table was also decorated with pumpkins that were wearing masks and snorkels.

Well, with a notecard like that, how was that not going to be an invitation?

Look, at least Peebee had a bottle of asari honey mead to contribute. It could have been ryncol.

But hey, at least one of the punch bowls was thoughtfully labeled now.

Lurking, Astrid could do. Lurking, Astrid was comfortable with. Relatively speaking, and so these shadowy corners was where Astrid planned on firmly planting herself for the rest of the night, clinging to a cup of punch. If anything, though, it provided a good view, a nice perspective, as everything about this night seemed like the perfect, almost poetic destruction of everything she might have expected her first homecoming dance to be in the garish lens of this strange, strange school.

And the even stranger fact that she was almost starting to like it.

Sidon was so perfectly delighted and pleased with how well the octorok pinatas had turned out that he almost felt bad making sure he took at least one turn mercilessly taking a few down.

Cat or no cat, Kanan still had a job to do. So of course he was here, chaperoning a homecoming dance, staring out at the dance floor with his ears perked up and his tail twitching behind him.
