"I mean," said Summer, "if you have to ask, then, obviously, the answer is yeah."

Was Summer going to go ahead and set out the jello shots for Seivarden in a very particular pattern, anyway? Of course she was. She could always just choose not to drink them.

"But it's the Olympics," she offered by way of explanation. "Happens every few years, it's this big global thing where every country brings together their brightest and best to compete on a world stage in a variety of different sports. Kind of a big deal if you're into that sort of thing, and even if you're not, it's kind of hard not to get sort of swept up in the excitement of it, you know?"

Summer was pretty sure Seivarden would find it actually not hard at all to not get swept up in the excitement of it.

Or most things, really.

"Anything can make a good jello shot theme if you're me," Summer pointed out, with a cocky grin and a proud lift of her chin, and just go ahead and try her on that, she dared you. "And I'm good. Thanks. How are you?"

That seemed the bigger question, really, since she felt the last time they talked, it had been not great, even if Seivarden would probably never admit to the fact that it had been not great.

"Well, yeah," said Summer. "It's was Rey's birthday party, I wasn't going to miss that for anything. You should have stopped by."

Sure, Summer wasn't even sure if Rey and Seivarden really even knew each other, or if they even got along, but whatever, it was a party, who even cared about stuff like that?

"You're just full of obvious questions you already know the answer to tonight, aren't you?" Summer noted with a snort. "Of course I did. Like I could even live with myself if I didn't whip up a custom set for Rey's birthday. They were mostly space themed, of course, and were, naturally, a big hit."

"Still definitely in development," Summer assured her with a smile. "Gotta admit , I'm still a little scattered from LIFE the whole hole situation, but, yeah, if there's a day or time coming up that'll work well for you, maybe we can finally get that ball rolling on out."

"Ohgod," Summer snorted, "you have vacation photos? Am I going to have to sit through a slide-show to see them, or are you going to be normal and just post them to Insta so I can just like all of them while mindlessly scrolling through them and telling you I totally checked them all out, clearly, I liked them, didn't I?"

She was joking, of course!

...mostly.

"I like engines!" Summer protested, as she took the phone and started scrolling through them with mild interest, and the occasional peaks of intrigue, especially at those Breq shots, don't even think Summer wouldn't notice and read into those, Seivarden! "I pretty much brought my ship back from the brink of being nothing more than scrap metal with my own two hands, you know."

A pause.

A few swipes.

"Well, my two hands, and Hera's, anyway, but you get the point."

Summer had to snort a little at the not a criticism. "Of course not," she said. "Amaya is just very...we'll say...focused..."

But Summer was considered the pictures of Mercy of Kalr with a little more interest now that it was pointed out to her. "That's the name of the ship, right?" she said. "And you guys do the whole AI thing too..."

"Mmm." Summer just gave sort of a thoughtful hum at that, as she swiped through a few more photos, figuring she'd gotten past most of the ship ones once Breq started showing up again, so she handed the phone back to Seivarden.

"I will give you guys this, though. You've got some sweet af tech out there."
