Caritas; Wednesday [07/28].

After getting a load of what Summer had put together for her jello shot theme that evening, all Tino could do was complain about how it wasn't fair that apparently Summer wasn't being banned from the Olympics, but he was.

"Yeah," said Summer, "I'm pretty sure there's a big difference between thematic jello and shotputting from the karaoke stage, Tino."

Maybe she could just convince him to pole-vault himself right into the trash or something, though.

...someone had clearly put way too much effort into any and all of this.

That made Jesse perk up.

"Hey, if you know somewhere that mixes 'tropical cliche' with 'weird', that, uh..."

She deflated a little.

"Would be my thing." Beat. "I'm weird."

Well, it had only taken something like a year of bar visits before she started letting her internal narrative leak in front of Summer.

Jesse reached for a shot. Ugh, why did you have to make things weird, Jesse? "Lobster people sounds cool," she said.

"I mean," Jesse said, tilting her head. "... You know, I can see that?"

"Oh?" Jesse asked. "What'd he do?"

She took that opportunity to down a shot.

"We managed to jump universes using a slide projector," Jesse added. (Thinking about the motel again, with its weird puzzles and its strange way of cutting through time and space with them.)
