Turtle & Canary; Monday [04/29].
Summer's recent bout of squirreling had gone on for well over a week now, and so she'd become increasingly insistent about Stark not dragging her around everywhere, and this caution was proven wise when, not very long after he left to go to the clinic, she was, in fact, back to herself again, in the comfort of her own home, as it should be. And since a glance at her phone told her immediately that it was Monday, she figured she'd take care of a few things, have a nice long shower, and do the most boring and terribly normal thing for a human to do: go to fucking work.
Especially since she'd heard from the other squirrels that Prompto had turned into an animal, too, which meant it was just Apu and the usual animals in the store, and, sure, the store pretty much would run itself when left to its own devices, but she felt Apu would appreciate that Summer was able to help again.
Of course, she walked in, saw a hug display about zippers, noticed anything with zippers was 50% off today, let out a little sigh and a shake of her head, but it was mostly just relieved that she may have been changed to a small furry rodent, but some things never did.

Actually, completely sure he was going to yell. And he'd probably deserve it, too.
Might as well prep by getting someone else to yell at him first, right? please tell me you're not a squirrel anymore.
It was a Monday. Odds were good.

Man, it felt good to type that.
It felt good to type anything, really.
good timing tho, i literally just changed back a bit ago. What's up?
no subject
Probably not the details she wanted, Rand.
no subject
What? It was all about perspective!
what'd you do? Or didn't do? Is this a convo better had in person over drinks or is tye barrier of technology protecting you, me, or both?

Atton stared at his phone. When he finally did text her, it was, obnoxiously, in a long series of individual messages.
So I told my roommate I'm from space
and he didn't react
then he found out he was late to work
and ran away
so I also ran away
And now I have 58 unread messages on my phone
Yes, it had been more than a week.

But what she wrote back was just:
jesus dude

I know okay??? I panicked

hold on a minute I need to decide if I want to tell you to sit down and go through each and every one of those before I say anything more OR if it's at a wash at this point and you're better off just nuking all of them and pretending they never existed or that you just lost your phone

To hopefully no one's surprise.

Also, Summer was insanely curious now.
no subject
He had no idea. He hadn't looked.
or I could just not
no subject
sure. If u wanna be a shifty coward about it. But u should probably still at least try to talk to ur roommate regardless. Assuming he'll even be willing at this point.
But u know what? If it's still about the space thing, ur better off without that shit, ans if it's now more about the idk 58 misses messages then he might be better off without THAT shit

Atton sighed, well aware of above fact, and also that Summer was speaking facts, and he hated every minute of it. He wasn't sure whether the greatest mistake of his life was 'not allowing himself to start learning how to be a functioning human being around other people until his late thirties' or 'learning how to be a functioning human being around other people after a lifetime of not doing so, thus opening himself up to all kinds of problems'.
Kind of a long hair/short hair dilemma, there.
why does this getting it together thing have to be so complicated all the time

"Hey, you're not a squirrel any more," Dean said with a smirk and grabbed some roasted almonds and put it in front of Summer. "Here you go. On me in case you're still craving nuts."
no subject
"Like I could say no to your nuts, Dean."
So, that would be a resounding nope!
She picked them up and held them dearly to her chest. "Thank you. You're too kind, and very observant. Too bad that wasn't apparently the case when it came to whatever bus it looks like might've hit you, though."
no subject
meta forGilligan's island. One or the other," Dean replied, not exactly shrugging because that still hurt. "Nothing that can't get better with rest, whiskey and pie. Looks like you missed all the fun last week with the exception of the radio knife fight with Leroy."no subject
She sighed, again, with the heaviness of such a plight. "But, yeah, no, I have no idea what was going on, there was no way I was letting Stark tote me around everywhere once the squirrel thing was pushing a week. That's just flirting with disaster.
no subject
Girl with a hammer? Even better.
"But if the squirrel can't get a clue that nothing is going to happen, maybe you need a restraining order. Or I could just shoot him."
no subject
"Thanks, Dean," she said. "I have definitely never thought of that before."
There were enough restraining orders to wallpaper this whole store, and Summer was a damn good shot but that asshole was fast.
no subject
Because they could write. Duh, Dean.
"Maybe I can find some lore on them. Probably a spell or a ritual somewhere that can take him out."

Ooo. Chili lime beef jerky near the counter. That got thrown into the pile too.
no subject
"God," she said, "you really are new, aren't you? But I'll tell you what. If you do manage to dig up something even I have trouble believing, you can have free beef jerky," she lifted up the bag he'd just impulse-bought, "from here for a year."
no subject
Normally research was a somewhat boring task to Dean but now there was free beef jerky on the line.
