Groovy Tunes; Monday [ 06/30 ]
It was going to be a very busy day at Groovy Tunes for Chad today. Beside him on the counter was a large stack of seemingly random magazines, ones that he would be flipping through in between customers and restocking to see if that ad was running yet.
Very important work, of course.
That wasn't going very well, since Chad found himself often distracted by thinks like an article on digital music engineering or Britney Spears' latest trainwreck caper.
Especially that last one. He was mostly just trying to figure out exactly what the story there was because so many magazines seemed to report it differently.

Talk at Chad -- 06/30
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
Yei purring 'round her ankles though had changed her mind. How could she deny the kitten the outing that she'd been promised? So, bundled up slightly against the cold, and with a purring kitten tucked protectively into her coat, Hinata slipped inside the store.
"Good morning, Chad-san."
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
Prince Oscar Pedro might not have taken too kindly to Chad trying to bundle him up earlier this morning. But Chad had a feeling that if any of the animals on the island should be restrained to a sweater in weather like this, it was a hairless one. He'd thank him later, Chad was sure of it.
"Hey, Hinata-san. What's up?"
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
"I d-don't think the temperature is," she said, with a smile. And then Yei was out, and she was holding her, and purring as her head swivelled to glance around the store. "But y-you've got a visitor."
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
AWWWWW. Chad grinned a little, especially at the squirming, and, considering how Hinata was holding her out, he assumed he could take her and reached out to get a closer look at the kitten.
And by closer look, he meant snuggle time and ear scritches.
"Is this Yei?" he asked, because, clearly, it needed to be asked.
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
Hinata grinned at her kitten, and the way she was purring all over Chad-san. "T-This is Yei," she said.
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
And, of course, the sound of Yei's purring was slowly drawing Prince Oscar Pedro, still stuck in an unfortunate green sweater, out from his hiding spot nearby. Slowly, his naked little head peeking out to see what was going on.
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
Hinata had though, and smiled. "Looks l-like someone else is curious too."
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
Prince Oscar Pedro just let out a long, cracking sort of meow of protest. He wasn't coming out to meet anyone dressed like he was.
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
"He's i-in a bit of a mood today?" Hinata asked, noticing the cuts on Chad-san's face.
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
Prince Oscar Pedro's already bulbous eyes got wider in a sort of distress and he disappeared under the shelf again.
"I don't think he likes the color green," Chad explained. Clearly, that had to be it.
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
"G-Green?" Hinata asked.
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
"That's the color of his sweater," Chad explained. "You didn't think I'd let him go out in the cold unprotected, did you?"
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
"O-Of course not," she said, flushing a bit. "It just, it never occurred to me that kittens could wear sweaters."
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
Prince Oscar Pedro was discovering that she was fluffy as well as his sniffing edged him a little further forward and he let out a small meow, to give her a nuzzle of greeting.
And, yes, he was already purring.
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
Yei purred back, nuzzling in greeting before trying an experimental lick. Where was his fur?
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
He eyed the spot where the kitten had disappeared, where Prince Oscar Pedro's purr kicked up a notch at lick from the other kitten and stretched a little bit more to enjoy the fact that she did have fur, while he did not, and it was very nice, almost as nice as Dinah's, but this one was a lot littler than Dinah, so he'd have to make sure he was nice.
Since he didn't seem to hear any hisses or yowls or anything, Chad could only conclude, "They seem to like each other."
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
The mortal enemies comment from before had made her fret about it.
Yei was, for her part, purring delightedly as she checked out the furless kitten. He was very nice, yes, though it was a little worrisome about his coat. She nudged him curiously, and tried licking the sweater.
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
Prince Oscar Pedro nudged the other kitten back; he's actually forgotten about the sweater for a brief moment there, but, now that she had brought his attention back to it, he got what he thought was a very clever idea. Perhaps she could help him! As a cat, he figured she would have the same sort of affinity for yarn that he had, and the sweater was made of yard, and, therefor...
He gave a soft meow, the kind that was imploring for her assistance, as he lifted a paw and gently brought it against her side; his little cat fingers were careful to keep his claws in as he pawed softly, hoping she'd imitated and, in the process, start a nice snag on his sweater that they could unravel.
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
Yei gave a chirpy little meow, of one that's found something interesting, and pawed at his sweater, little claws tugging at the sweater. Like that? Like that?
"Green being the exception," she nodded. "Does h-he rather any other colour in specific?"
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
"Red," Chad answered in a grunt, although he had no basis of evidence to this claim. He just had a feeling.
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
She did it!
Hinata smiled. "I'm sure you're right." Well, he did have far more experience with cats than she did, after all.
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
"He also likes chocolate," Chad added, feeling it was somehow important. "But it makes him really sick."
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
He was so clever. She purred loudly.
Hinata nodded. She had known that about cats before. "P-Perhaps they make something that tastes like chocolate, but isn't actually? He m-might like that."
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
"What?" Chad asked. "You mean like carob or something?"
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
"Carob?" Hinata shook her head. "I w-wouldn't know. It was just a s-suggestion."
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
"I think it's like...a...vegan chocolate substitute, or something," Chad said. He...had no idea. But he was kind of hungry now.
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
"I d-don't think I've seen it before," she said. "Though I wasn't l-looking for it either..."
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
For about maybe five seconds. Eventually, he decided that he was over it, and went rifling through the yard to try to find an end.
Chad shrugged again and decided to observe on something different this time. "What do you think they're doing under there? Maybe they found some good dust bunnies?"
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
Hinata winced slightly at the idea of what dust bunnies would do to Yei's coat, but had to smile at the image. "T-They're being very quiet," she observed. "Do y-you think they might be planning something?"
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
Hinata's suggestion had Chad frowning a little worriedly. "...Like what?"
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
"Well," she said thoughtfully. "H-Hopefully nothing too bad?"
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
"I wouldn't think so," Chad said, frowning just a little deeper, "they both seem good kitties..."
Re: Talk at Chad -- 06/30
"S-So possibly, it might only be a planned a-attempt for obtaining fish?"
