Senior Graduation Lock In, Abandoned Warehouse, Friday Night

It was the day before graduation. The day before pomp and circumstance, diplomas, smiling seniors and proud guests. What better way to spend that day then partying the night away? That's right, tonight was the night of the senior lock in! Many NPC workers had been busy in town, cleaning up and setting up an abandoned warehouse for the event.

Now, the front of the warehouse was lit up with neon signs and stanchions that would lead the seniors into a huge building where not one speck of floor space wasn't being used for something fun. There was loud music pumping through the building and strobe lights were swirling around the area, lighting up the room in blues, reds, greens, yellows and various other colors. Decorations of all kinds painted the walls, giving the room a party like atmosphere.

Of course, it would just be a regular ole party, right? Nothing surprising would happen, right? Oh, of course. No surprises. Riiiiiight.

The senior lock in was open and it was time for the seniors to get their party on!

[Posted early for super duper SP! This is for seniors only. OCD is good to go! Have fun! Comments are off so, if you need me, ping the OOC thread or email me!

ETA: And there's something going down here! Have fun there and please please continue to play in the party beforehand. It's your party, seniors, please enjoy it!

ETA 2: And the thread to get free is here!. Hack it up! It's moddable!]

"You totally must," she exclaimed brightly, moving with him, moving with the music. "Nothing like being five, only not."

She smiled at him. The list of people she was going to miss was long.

"Really? Oh my god, that's great!" That would be Amber going in for a hug, while dancing. "Tell me it's the first half of summer?"
withoutverona: (hugging a girl)

"Aye, the first half." Romeo returned the hug while still dancing. He had mad skillz.

... only maybe not, since he lost the beat and almost tripped over a shoe lace. Apologetically, he stepped back to get himself right. "... Yurika's TAing, and I have the shop."

She hugged him back then cracked up at his mad skillz, reaching to help steady him if he needed it. "Are you okay?" She couldn't help but laugh. "And after that, what are two doing?"
withoutverona: (laughing)

"The floor leapt up to trip me!" Romeo joked, resting his hand lightly on her shoulder for a second. "After that? Well, she has a job in Tokyo she's excited for. I am looking at my options."

"I saw," she teased. "Mean floor." Her hand settled near his waist. "Ah, good for her. It's always nice when you're actually excited for something like that. What options are those?" Because she was always curious.
withoutverona: (all stubbly and grrrr)

"My father would like me to come home and work for our company, but I spent the last eight months begging Dojima to let me go to Tokyo with her," Romeo explained, stumbling back onto the beat. "People keep saying I ought to take classes in Tokyo. I am looking at that."

"Why would you have to beg her?" she asked, getting with the beat once again. "You guys have been together for a long time." She raised her brows. "What're looking to study, and what does your father think about that?"
withoutverona: (mesmerized)

"I had to beg because a boyfriend would be a distraction from her job, and she worries about getting too serious too young," Romeo said, in the tone of one who would never understand that. "I'd probably take some business courses. It would not hurt for me to at least be able to read a balance sheet."

He shrugged, keeping the motion fluid. "I've not told my father."

"Oh." Too serious too young. Amber seemed to mull over that for a moment or two, swaying with the music while she thought of her relationship with Liir. Looking away from Romeo, she bit her bottom lip. Was she being unfair to him? A conversation that has not yet happened because Amber kept putting it off.

"Business courses sound great," she replied, looking back at him now. "Why haven't you told him?"

To be fair, Liir probably wasn't prone to deciding he had to marry girls he'd known six hours. "Too serious too young" took on a new dimension when you were dealing with Romeo.

He swayed some more, fingertips light against Amber. "I want to tell him to his face," he answered. "And there wasn't time, yesterday."

Romeo hadn't let there be time; he was procrastinating, too.

No, no he wasn't.

She moved easy, naturally. "It has to be hard on a parent, hearing that your child would rather go somewhere else than home. My ma gave me a fit over it but I didn't care. There's nothing for me at home except the trailer park and morgue and I'd just as soon run around naked before working on the dead again."
withoutverona: (B+W askance)

"And, to add to my father's sorrow, Montagues don't leave Verona," Romeo said. "I thought living somewhere else would be the worst thing I could imagine, until I'd been here a few months."

He gave her a curious look. "You worked with the dead?"

Re: Dancing

[identity profile] minnesota-teen.livejournal.com 2009-05-01 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
That was easy to understand. A wealthy family stays together, works together... least on TV they always did. "Being here sort of puts a whole new perspective on everything else outside our safe little haven here." Because yes, while there might be invasions of some kind or another, Amber was safe from Gladys Leeman.

"I did the make-up and hair of the deceased, prepping them for viewings. I only took the job because it enabled me to practice my tap dancing." A beat. "Tile flooring."
withoutverona: (not laughing at you rly)

Romeo had to stop dancing there to laugh, which was fine since the song was over anyhow. "I apologize," he said, when he straightened. "I just got the mental image of you tap-dancing around a morgue."

Amber grinned, placing her hands on her hips since the song was over. "It's okay. Laugh it up. I know how it sounds and I'll tell you something, your mental image is right. It's exactly what I did."
