Even though it was daytime, the "dolphins in space" theme had been carried over to the brunch. The mural was nowhere to be found, but inside the tent that had been set up to give everyone a shady place to gather, there were silver and blue metallic streamers and balloons hung up, and each of the tables had a blue flower arrangement on it.

There were no fish to be found though, unless you counted what could be on the food table. Honestly, that might not really be fish either.

After getting settled at the hotel, Isabel made her way to the Perk. Finals were starting on Monday and she planned on getting some studying done while she waited for her coffee date.

Of course she'd probably get more studying done if she actually paid attention to her notes instead of watching who was coming and going in case it was someone she knew.

It was time to put on makeup. It was time to dress up right. It was time to raise the curtain on the Mup- er, on Richard III tonight.

Tony'd put on a nice shirt to be Director Guy, but the sweat and dust from running around backstage kind of ruined the effect. How the heck did Geoffrey do this "live" stuff all the time? No wonder the guy was certifiable.

Just on the other side of the Causeway, the weather was cool, but in Fandom, a beautiful, warm nearly-summer evening welcomed Fandom's seniors and juniors to their Prom.

A large tent open on one side had been erected in the center of the park. Garlands of small white lights entwined with greenery decorated the edges and roof of the tent, while two of the canvas sides were covered in large pictures of cherry blossoms and the middle had a wall-sized painting of a masquerade. Under the canopy were clusters of little chairs and tables along with the table of food and punch bowl.

Beyond the tent's open wall, a dance floor had been set up on the grass under the conveniently flowering trees. More fairy lights had been wound through the tree branches leaving the area softly lit in most areas. Torches were placed in a few clusters around the dance floor, making flickering areas of brighter light for people to congregate.

A photographer waited for his clients just beyond the dance floor with several backdrops of flowers or masquerades or, oddly, a lemur family to choose from.

The voting box for Prom King and Queen stood right at the entrance to the dance for those last-minute votes.

And, of course for Fandom's Masquerade, a table of elaborately decorated (or some more simple ones) waited for their new owners to simply slip them on and join the revelry.

[OOC: Weather modded with permission. The Prom is open to juniors, seniors, and their dates and definitely open to slowplay. Another post will be going up later this evening set for 10pm-midnight. Prom voting is open until 4pm EDST Please to be waiting for the OCD IS UP! (No thanks to LJ)]

The calls had started early in the morning, and the patients had followed shortly after, all with the same problem - people had fallen asleep and couldn't be woken up. It didn't take long for it to become clear that the clinic wouldn't hold everyone - there really were a finite number of rooms in the place - and in quite possibly the only instance of anyone ever being grateful for the plague, it wasn't long before Martha, the nurses, and the town hall staff had figured out how to recreate the emergency clinic in the town hall. Cots were set up, supplies were brought over, and the rest of the clinic staff had been contacted. Now, all they needed was to get everyone rounded up to be taken care of, and to try to figure out what was wrong.

Yes, she was loaded down with bags.

Yes, her portal left in about a half hour.

But she had to stop in for coffee at The Perk just one last time before picking up that portal at the causeway. It was... look, she just had to, okay?

Mac settled herself down in one of the comfy chairs by the window with her mug, making the most of the last little bit of time she had here. No doubt she'd be back to visit at some point (assuming she could). An entire high school career here, and leaving felt very much like the end of an era. She could be sentimental if she wanted to be.

[[Keeping with the recurring theme today! Last chance to stop in and talk to Mac for anyone that might want to before she leaves. Any friends who want to mod a call from her, go for it. The Perk is of course also open for all your caffeine needs!]]

It was the day before graduation. The day before pomp and circumstance, diplomas, smiling seniors and proud guests. What better way to spend that day then partying the night away? That's right, tonight was the night of the senior lock in! Many NPC workers had been busy in town, cleaning up and setting up an abandoned warehouse for the event.

Now, the front of the warehouse was lit up with neon signs and stanchions that would lead the seniors into a huge building where not one speck of floor space wasn't being used for something fun. There was loud music pumping through the building and strobe lights were swirling around the area, lighting up the room in blues, reds, greens, yellows and various other colors. Decorations of all kinds painted the walls, giving the room a party like atmosphere.

Of course, it would just be a regular ole party, right? Nothing surprising would happen, right? Oh, of course. No surprises. Riiiiiight.

The senior lock in was open and it was time for the seniors to get their party on!

Now that the weather was nicer, the afternoon seemed like a good time for Sam to take Peter on his picnic. While Sam would never turn down the chance to be with Peter, he was especially grateful for the distraction today as he spread out a blanket for them and sat down.

Blair didn't have ice to work with this time, but she tried to do what she could with the location she had. Luckily the beach was pretty. Besides, too much gold in the decorations tended to cross the line into tacky.

So she kept the decorations to twinkling gold lights and candles. Most of the linens were a crisp white, with golden napkins and table runners to provide pops of color.

The bulk of the gold went into the food. There were brandied apricots, lemon and chocolate cheesecakes, mango sorbets, small cups of saffron vanilla pudding, miniature stuffed yellow peppers, and any number of foods that followed the theme, along with the pies that Ned had made.

Drinks were mixed, but naturally included Goldschläger, as well as coffee and cocoa decorated with tiny gold letters which said things like "Fandom" or "Goodbye Summer."

Blair had staked out a prime table with a view of the water. She sipped at a passionfruit martini, listened to the music coming out of the various speakers she'd had set up, and looked forward to a night of judging watching the crowd.

She was also going to make sure nobody served those skunks. Clearly they didn't know how to hold their liquor.

Jen had woken up from some bizarrely vivid dream about living in Germany and being an auto mechanic who souped up cars for illegal street racing. The whole thing had been very bizarre, and the part where she'd been involved with one of the street racers whose day job happened to be with the police had really just kind of made her twitchy; the quizzical look on her face still hadn't worn off by the time she got to work.

How was Lucas doing these days, anyway? Would be nice to have a way to find out.

Hades was irritated. The Nightmares' food had been taken by the raiding party and he'd fallen prey to the oldest distraction in the book. But it didn't matter. That wasn't part of the main plan, it was only a fun side venture. The Nightmares would be able to get food again once they were able to come through to the surface. Fandom would be his soon enough. Enough of Andrew's personal energy and life force had been put into the barrier. It was doing the rest of the work on its own now. Just a little longer and Fandom would be officially connected to Tartarus, making it (by Olympian law) part of the Underworld and his domain.

Just a little longer. Then all he would have to do is appear on the island, grab the nearest live person, transport back here and throw them into the barrier to kill them when it was charging up to make the connection permanent.

So close. So very close.

As soon as Zoe heard Hades' announcement, she headed to Town Hall.

Actually, the first thing she did was let out a string of profanity that would have made Mal blush, and if Grace picked any of it up later, she would only have herself to blame. Then she took Grace, promising John they'd be safe, and headed to Town Hall. She handwavily contacted the others in charge on the way, and started working on a plan for how to take care of Hades. At the moment, the plan involved a lot of violence on her part.

Jen was not still cranky about the whole prom thing last night, honest. And if she noticed a lot of kids running around today on her way to work, she just chalked it up to more Fandom weirdness, maybe a redux of the mass regression to childhood that had thankfully skipped her this time.

Not far from where the Skeleton Tea had been held earlier in the day, there was a tent that had been erected, with thiny, gauzy material and bone-like poles. Not dirty. The lights were soft as the evening grew darker, casting a welcoming, yet vaguely spooky illumination on the proceedings.

The proceedings of PROM.

One side of the tent was open, backing against a grove of trees; there were a few lights among them, but for the most part they offered shadowy nooks for anyone who wished to be a bit apart from the main action. The rest of the tent was enclosed, save for the entrance, and the same skeletons who'd worked the Tea earlier were at the refreshments table, ready and willing to serve any students or chaperones who approached. At one end of the table was the ballot box for prom court voting.

The music was just getting started, and the dance floor was yet to fill up, but regardless, Fandom High Prom 2008 was underway!

Arrivals to the town hall for the dance would find it decorated with darker, richer colors, from the draping streamers to the balloons scattered around to the runner on the snacks table. At the entrance, there was even a table with a variety of masks available for those who might not have brought their own, or were too damn lazy to get one, provided ever so graciously by Turtle & Canary.

And there wasn't a single speck of pink in the decorations. Nope. Not one. Turtle had made sure of it, even against the nefarious plottings of someone whose name may have rhymed with Peg Panning.

There was, however, still a lot of glitter. You could change the world, but you couldn't tempt fate.

Sam had been thinking about Professor Stinson's offer on and off all day. After taking his final, he wasn't sure what kind of grade he would have in Love Smart, and that didn't sit well with him at all. Of course, the idea of streaking didn't sit well with him either, but it wasn't quite as bad as the thought of not getting an A.

It's possible Sam's priorities were a little skewed.

Hoping that no one but the news squirrels would see him, Sam stripped down, but held onto his shirt in case he suddenly needed to cover himself up. After a few moments of shivering in the cold air, he finally took off running. Someday, when he'd gotten accepted to college, this would hopefully seem a lot more amusing. Christian came in early to the clinic and found his patients had doubled overnight and were starting to be stacked up like cordwood in the exam rooms. He definitely was going to have to make use of town hall. After a few handwavey phone calls to get things officially set up, he and the nurses transfered the patients over to the makeshift hospital. Fortunately, town hall was almost directly behind the clinic, so it was a short trip. Cots were obtained and set up around the large room in anticipation of more patients.

The mayor didn't seem to be around, but Christian left handwavey messages for Principle Washburn and Sheriff Mustang about the situation. They were definitely going to have to establish a quarantine. This was spreading like wildfire. He would insist that anyone tending to the patients was going to have to wear masks and gloves.

The first thing that might be noticed when students walked into the Town Hall was the towering stone troll statues that had been dragged in to grace the corners of the dance floor.  It being Homecoming and a semi-formal dance, the trolls were decked out appropriately in hats, glitter, and togas.  Fairy lights were strung across the ceiling, some twined with streamers and some dripping glitter and confetti across the dance floor.

The walls were decorated with blown up pictures of significant events at Fandom: Graduations, the school blowing up, the Christmas pageants, plays, carnivals, zombies, all the moments that make Fandom Fandom.  Given a place of honour on the walls were a mock up of an exploding volcano, a massive gremlin in a bow tie, and, of course, the Stickbug flag.

Large lit up snowmen congregated around the punch bowl against a snowy backdrop and across the ballroom near the stage, there was a mural of large dinosaurs reaching up to enjoy a glittery streamer dinner.  The wall of the door though had the biggest picture of all - a painting of the island at night from across the water.

As students dropped off their wraps, they were pointed to vote for Homecoming Court then encouraged to proceed into the ballroom.
