Beach; Sunday Afternoon

Luke was new to town, but that didn't mean he was going to let not knowing how things work around here stop him from his usual activities. It was Fourth of July and there were two things you should do on that day: Watch that movie with Will Smith in it and light some sparklers on fire. He had already done the former and, now that it was getting dark, it was time to blow up shiny things.

He had found a spot on the beach where he wouldn't burn anything down, made a bonfire and then snapped up whatever fireworks he could think of. Sparklers, Roman Candles, Wheels, Snakes, Parachutes, and even some of the bigger ones that may have been less than legal in this country (he was debating on whether or not he'd light those). Truly a pyromaniac's dream come true.

Luke snapped up some burgers and sodas and he was ready to celebrate July 4th in style.

[Impromptu beach party yesss. Hold on, I'm adding OCD There you go!]

"Well, see, I like to work my way up," Hannibal said, shrugging. "See how much damage I can do to myself progressively. Chicks dig scars."

"What grade level mutilation is that one?" Hannibal asked, whistling impressively.

"A dragon?" Hannibal repeated, raising an eyebrow. "You don't know a pompous ass named Arthur, do you?"

"Hera?" Hannibal echoed. He was doing a lot of repeating in this conversation. "Where do I know that name?"

"And you and her...are like frenemies or something?" Hannibal guessed, putting his own special spin on it.

"And why didn't Daddy go after it himself?" Hannibal had to wonder.

"And besides the scar, how'd you do?" Hannibal asked. "Pass the test?"

"Well, if it makes you feel any better, I probably couldn't have done even that," Hannibal said, shrugging. "Your dad get pissed?"

"Sounds like a pretty thankless thing, being the song of a god," Hannibal said, surprised at how unsurprised he was at meeting someone who was related to the gods and goddesses. "You would think they could do the quests themselves, being gods and all."

"I think it's all about how you do it too," Hannibal said, completely down with the encouraging. "Do you prefer subtly undermining or just outright aggressiveness?"

"So, any ideas on how you'd do that?" Hannibal wondered curiously. "Subterfuge?"

"Oooh, a good plan," Hannibal said, impressed. "Do they normally bicker with each other?"

"Nope," Hannibal said, shrugging. "Not really something I paid much attention to. I'm not related to Zeus, after all."

He knew that guy, at least.
