Caritas; Wednesday [07/28].
After getting a load of what Summer had put together for her jello shot theme that evening, all Tino could do was complain about how it wasn't fair that apparently Summer wasn't being banned from the Olympics, but he was.
"Yeah," said Summer, "I'm pretty sure there's a big difference between thematic jello and shotputting from the karaoke stage, Tino."
Maybe she could just convince him to pole-vault himself right into the trash or something, though.
Wednesday Jello Shot Special!
O O O
Try All Five for a Jello Shot Olympian Gold Medal!
...someone had clearly put way too much effort into any and all of this.
Caritas is open!

Because, yeah, Summer, Jesse was totally here for the boozy jello medals.

And she did rather like setting them up because that was also part of the whole effect and even if Jesse did decide to try all of them, Summer was completing the presentation with a nice generic beer off to the side for her, too.

She considered Summer. "How've you been?"
no subject
Her head tilted to serve that consideration right back at Jesse. "How about you?"

Nothing was probably going to save Jesse from the intrigued lift of Summer's eyebrow at that last part, though.
"Oh?" she prompted, because sometimes, you just had to see what kind of blanks the person filled in for themselves before going at it with your own pen.

She had some ideas! She was pretty sure Jesse would probably outright reject at least one of them, but still! It was certainly an intriguing mind exercise to possibly nudge toward....
"And also," she added, part distraction, part genuine curiousity, "where would you go? Is there anywhere that's, like, aways been on the Jesse Faden Potential Vacay Bucket List?"

And a very strange motel.

"Yeaaahhhh," she agreed with that sentiment. "Although....Annie could probably make some good suggestions with Hawaii now, and Barry took me to this great little private tropical island for Valentine's Day, if it's actually not underwater right now, maybe he could hook you up."
no subject
Jesse snorted softly.
"I'm not surprised Barry knows private islands, for some reason."
La la what first question?

"It's really nice," Summer allowed, deciding to just sort of bask happily in her own memories for a little moment. "Beautiful sunsets. Quiet. Relaxing....And, I mean, not to brag or anything," totally bragging, "but I can probably do him one better and suggest a few nice private planets to look into, too, if you wanted to take this whole vacay thing off orbit."
no subject
"Hey, if you know somewhere that mixes 'tropical cliche' with 'weird', that, uh..."
She deflated a little.
"Would be my thing." Beat. "I'm weird."
Well, it had only taken something like a year of bar visits before she started letting her internal narrative leak in front of Summer.

"I definitely know somewhere that mixes 'tropical cliche' with 'weird,'" Summer assured her, "but that all kind of depends on whether or not you're weird enough to be cool with a race of hyper-intelligent but honestly kind of snooty lobster people running the show."
And then her expression went a little...conflicted, mostly because of what that small deflation made her feel.
"And...that's not that weird, Jes."
Like...who did she think she was talking to right now?

She considered Jesse a moment longer.
"You should totally go, though," she decided. "I can get you hooked up through Portalocity, even. And it was a part of the former Federation's main hub, so they're actually really great for tourists, even if the former Federation definitely considers Earth basically the multiverse's Florida."
A beat.
"Actually," she realized, "Alabama's probably more accurate."
So you know. Yikes.

She took that opportunity to down a shot.

"Which is kind of crazy to think about the fact that this dimension already has a whole-ass business with interdimensional travel at its core, with an app and everything, but that's probably why Grampa Rick acts like someone pissed in his soda every single time I use it for myself. Like, yeah, sorry, old man, you're not such hot shit after all. Infinite reality, bitch. There's just as many versions of you that suck as there are ones that don't."

"Ohmygod," Summer said. "I am so telling him about that, it is going to piss him off so much."
Rubbing how absolutely obsolete he was in the grand scheme of things now in Rick Sanchez's face: Summer's new favorite Olympic Sport, and she was going for gold, baybeeeeee!
