Clearly, A.J. was feeling very much in his usual groove of things as there was not a special to be seen on the specials board, but, instead, a whole confectionary explosion of what looked almost like flowers, but it was hard to tell with the sharp sorts of angles that they took, with bright colors that clashed and collided with each other. And A.J.'s fingers were still itching after he'd made the board a fragmented, fractal floral arrangement so the sketchbook was out on the counter and he was filling pages faster than it took for him to burn an order. Which was pretty fast, you know.

Luke's is open.

Once Gunther was all settled in the kitchen with another one of Hoshi's grandmother's recipes, Hoshi took her spot at the front desk and settled in with a new language book. After working on her Russian last week, Hoshi had moved on to Quechua.

Cher wasn't behind the counter much today. No, she was looking through appropriate homecomingwear. It was her first real social event here. She didn't want a date, because that would put forth the wrong image that she needed one, but still, she felt obligated to look her absolute best. In fact, she would happily spend way more energy on that last part.

She was still able to hear anyone who might come in, though.

Andrew opened the store, took out a stack of catalogs, and began looking at suits and tuxes. Someone was a little excited about Homecoming.

The Magic Box is open!

Johnny was in a mood when he opened up the hut.

First fight with girlfriend sucked.

Kicking Wyatt's ass was going to be priceless.

That is if he could ever catch up to the chicken shi-

Bah. Photo Hut is open.

When Dale reached the station in the morning the first he did was to walkinto the break room to get his morning "Cup of Joe". Instead of finding the traditional box of donuts sitting by the coffee maker he instead found the room filled</> with boxes.

Upon further investigation, one of the troopers admitted that when he made the order from J'GOB's yesterday he accidentally mispoke and the result was tons of donuts.

Dale took survey of the room and gave a curt nod to the troopers.

"Gentlemen? I believe what we have here is an opportunity to reach out to our community."

Which is why anyone walking down the street will see Dale Cooper and assorted troopers on a folding table serving free donuts and coffee to the people of Fandom.

[ooc: Hey. If the West Wing can have a "Big Block of Cheese Day", Fandom can have a "Ton of Donuts Day". Except Fandom is handing out virtual donuts and the West Wing never handed out an ounce of cheese. Take that Aaron Sorkin! Yeah!]

He was not a man-whore. Just because he took Joanna to his room last night which is still being played out and stripped for her, danced for her, rubbed her feet and everything else -- and just because she liked to gift him with cash for unknown reasons -- did not make him a man-whore!

George Michael stared at the ocean. He tapped his fingers on the counter.

Five minutes later: "Oh my god I'm a man-whore!"

He quickly scribbled a note on the menu board: FREE BANANAS TO THE FIRST FIVE CUSTOMERS.

Justification.

He felt better.

Beauty breezed into the post office, scritched Not Tiddles behind the ears and waved at Gladys, and made a quick check to be sure the Sorting Engine was doing its job. Then she settled herself behind the counter with a stack of books, including the H volumes of the encyclopedia.

She also had a copy of a glamour magazine she'd found. Beauty hadn't quite decided if she was girly enough to read it yet, though.

D'Argo had heard something about a new bouncer. He found this vaguely insulting. After all, they had him.

Nevermind that he was just as likely to be involved in any fighting. Details, details.

Just before dusk, the temporary movie screen is set up, with a big grassy area in front to provide seating space. A few people have arrived early to share picnic suppers, and to visit with their friends.

[OOC: The movie begins at dusk, and the screen will be removed afterwards. OCD threads will be are up for your movie-going use. Anyone who needs the park for other purposes will find that the outdoor cinema takes up only a portion of the park, with plenty of space available for non-movie needs.]

Kabuto had almost skived off coming to work tonight.

He only came because he had to pretend things were normal or he'd go completely crazy. Crazy was bad.

To relieve some of his destructive tendencies, he gathered the autumnal-colored origami creatures and put them in a pile in the middle of the floor. A mild exploding tag was added to the pile, creating a rather satisfying explosion.

Believe it or not, the bar was open.
