Kitty's good mood from the weekend had lasted all the way through to today. (Shut up.)

And then she came in to work and got her very first dose of Tino's saga with the barista. Besides hoping that wasn't what she looked like (it wasn't), this saga seemed to be an epic one, in the way that it didn't end and she couldn't escape having to hear about it short of leaving early or firing him or something.

Come in, people. For the love of god, give her something else to do.

It was a new day and there was no better way to start a new day than with the continuation of the carnival. There was still snow coating the ground but the atmosphere was as lively as ever. With cream-colored decorations and twinkling lights, the Student Council had aimed for a winter wonderland kind of theme, and the snow simply added to the effect. Thankfully, the day was turning out to be warmer, so those who were going to be outside all day wouldn't freeze. Once the finishing touches were done, the carnival was open for business.

Willow was back for Homecoming, of course. She wanted to see her friends again, and all the things that she missed about the island, like the squirrels and of course coffee.

Coffee could be handled easily, which was why she was at the Perk.

This was all perfectly normal.

Much as it was entirely normal that for some reason Willow couldn't stop pondering about a lampshade that was hanging near her table.

Just one of those Fandom things.

It was early, before graduation, when Romeo ducked into town to find some breakfast. His terribly original plan was to take a bagel and some coffee down to the beach and watch the water. He might even write some poetry. (Romeo didn't mess with his classic modes of behavior.)

He took a moment, though, to sit at a table in the cafe, letting his coffee cool before he began the walk. It was a thoughtful kind of day, with graduation hanging in the air.

[OOC: Open for your Romeo/God of Biscuit needs, but the thread with Angela is last chronologically.]

After figuring out that her message had apparently gotten where it needed to go or whatever because the animals finally stfu, Jaye had spent all day talking to Portalocity via website and phone. Thanks to the stupid holiday rush it was surprisingly hard to find a good portal where she needed to go for the price she wanted. Didn't it just figure? She finally managed to swing one for later at night, which she wasn't happy with, but it would give her time for a drink. You know, one last one where she could get one without a fake ID.

When she got there, she didn't see anyone at the bar, seeing as how Mr. Mayor was late again. So, Jaye decided she might as well just go behind the counter, where all the alcohol was. Maybe she could sneak some out.

Sam was dressed for a run around the island, too used to the every day workouts to give it up just because she was back where the terrain was familiar and occasionally full of teal deer.

But first, some math, a brownie, and a huge cup of coffee. Or two.

[ooc: Sam's here, but it's also open for other people who don't want to talk to her.]

George Michael forgot to go to work yesterday cause mun is a dork and totally forgot to post and he was sure someone had to notice. Even if it was just Eddie. Eddie noticed everything. Eddie better not have stolen anything. George Michael would have to hurt him. Bad.

Okay not really because Eddie kind of scared him. He'd had a nightmare about his eyes getting beaked to death. Wasn't pretty.

The park had been set up with several booths and tents for vendors for the first, um, semi-annual Monthly Market. There'd be plenty of areas to shop around and mingle, and it was all cleaned up from yesterday's carnival, really. It just so hapened that the place might get all messed up again really quickly today, too.

[Plz be waiting for OCD.]

Much of the glitter had fallen to the floor and the snowmen were starting to look a bit dingey but the music was still playing, the punch was still flowing and the greatest hits of Fandom past and presents weren't about to be stopped.

Mary had told her that it might be busy today with the alumni's arriving for homecoming. River had put a plate with cookies on the desk for visitors, to make it feel more welcoming. She had also discovered the fascinating world of savoury muffins, not that sweet and savoury was a distinction she found of major importance..

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!
Today's Specials
Tuna and mayonaise muffins
Scampi and cranberry sauce muffins
Mint and artichoke muffins

The Arms Hotel is open.

The first thing that might be noticed when students walked into the Town Hall was the towering stone troll statues that had been dragged in to grace the corners of the dance floor.  It being Homecoming and a semi-formal dance, the trolls were decked out appropriately in hats, glitter, and togas.  Fairy lights were strung across the ceiling, some twined with streamers and some dripping glitter and confetti across the dance floor.

The walls were decorated with blown up pictures of significant events at Fandom: Graduations, the school blowing up, the Christmas pageants, plays, carnivals, zombies, all the moments that make Fandom Fandom.  Given a place of honour on the walls were a mock up of an exploding volcano, a massive gremlin in a bow tie, and, of course, the Stickbug flag.

Large lit up snowmen congregated around the punch bowl against a snowy backdrop and across the ballroom near the stage, there was a mural of large dinosaurs reaching up to enjoy a glittery streamer dinner.  The wall of the door though had the biggest picture of all - a painting of the island at night from across the water.

As students dropped off their wraps, they were pointed to vote for Homecoming Court then encouraged to proceed into the ballroom.

[OOC:  Chaperones and Security please ping in as soon as possible.  The second post will be going up in about five hours (or when browsers start to break) but this post is very SP friendly.  PLEASE wait for the OCD is UP and POST IS OPEN]

Rory had been in the park for a good chunk of the afternoon, setting things up through the power of her wavy, wavy hands. There were white cloth-covered tables with red bouquets as centerpieces, and chairs for sitting, food for eating (including a cake that had been sent earlier that afternoon, courtesy of a certain undead-type in Los Angeles), and tiny white lights strung up through the trees, as well as some tasteful and simple white and red chintz wrapped around the trunks.

If it looked like another engagement party Rory had once attended (but with a different color scheme), well, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

[please to be waiting for OCD. OCD IS UP. Open to all! Yes, posted crazy early because my schedule sucks. Cake is courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] notstakedyet, who obviously couldn't physically be here himself but sent something along anyway. :)]

It had been too long since Angela fully met her caffeine and chocolate needs, so she was at the Perk, nursing a large iced mocha with whipped cream and nibbling on a chocolate chip muffin.

It wasn't healthy, but it made her happy.

She had left a message for Bridge, but she wasn't really waiting for anything in particular. She was just enjoying a quiet moment before graduation -- or at least trying to.

Tori opened the bookstore and set out tea, coffee and pastries for potential customers. Taking a seat behind the counter, she sighed.

Yes, she was missing Aiden and Kimberly terribly.

As hard as she tried, she couldn't really concentrate on her notes. Flipping through a notebook, she found a page with colored scribbles and 'I love you, mommy' written on it. Yeah, that just made her more melancholy.

But, she couldn't help but crack a smile at the thought of him running around, safe and sound back home. And to have gotten the chance to known both him and Kimberly made her feel a bit happier. It had been a great few days, that was for sure.

No matter what the weather was on the mainland, the weather over the Fandom had warmed up to a beautiful spring evening, just perfect for a night of dancing.

A large tent had been set up in the park and it glowed with the soft light of what seemed like a million small white lights. The path leading up to the tent crossed a small bridge and then split, one walkway leading up to the tent, the other leading to the pond where a small dock had been set up. Two gondolas were waiting to take anyone who wished to go on a ride around the pond.

Inside the tent, numerous colorful backdrops made it seem like the students had been transported to Saint Mark's Square. The only thing missing were the pigeons.

Off to one side stood a table with a box for the final votes for the Prom Court.

It was time for Prom 2007.

[OOC: Up early for Slow-play. Please wait for the extensive OCD. Have at it!]

Angela had left shopping for prom to the last possible minute -- her birthday -- but was relieved to find Stuff for sale didn't seem to be sold out.

Though that didn't make the dresses attractive. She giggled at some bad ones as she flipped through the racks, pulling dresses she liked as well.

Sitting around outside in the dark alone probably was not the most sensible idea, but Angela was not the most sensible girl.

It was spring, and the warmish air felt like a blessing. Angela closed her eyes, listening to the breeze ruffling the water in the pond and not-so-idly trying to adjust to the idea that her last full month of high school was about to begin.

Piper was very grateful when Weevil opened Caritas extra early so she could decorate and set up for Veronica's surprise party.

She was also relieved when Tino informed her that Veronica would be late. Not that she was going to have to work anyway. It's her birthday party after all.

The music is playing, the City Hall is still aglow, and some of the streamers are still up. The DVD players are still projecting 3D images of the cities. And streamers, glitter, candles, balloons, and lights are everywhere, including the students.

[ooc: Post is currently closed. open. Wait for the music though. We are good to go! Move at your own pace through the two posts and have fun!]

City Hall is aglow with the light from the torches. Streamers in blue and yellow line the way for students towards the ballroom. Inside, hangings and other decorations represent the Lost Cities. A working volcano stands in Krakatoa's corner. Seven DVD players are projecting 3D images of the cities as well. And streamers, glitter, candles, balloons, and lights are everywhere.

Prom has begun.

[ooc: Wait for the OCD threads or suffer my wrath. Done! But please wait for the music threads to go up before dancing. Prom II will be going up in about two hours. Later.]

Angela is going to be in the library most of the day, as it's her turn to open.

This requires caffeine. Lots of caffeine. She gets a large black coffee, dumps some sugar in, and sits by the window, waiting for her brain to wake up enough to let her walk back to campus. Maybe she'll even get some muffins for the other aides.

I'll probably be back for interaction later because I want to distract myself from my misery, but please, feel free to just mod Baldrick to over- and/or undercharge you as much as you want. When Isabel looked outside Monday morning, the snow was gone. After being cooped up in the dorm for most of the weekend, she decided to take a walk to town to get a coffee before Western Lit.

Bored out of her freaking mind, Jaye sits down at the Perk with a mocha cappucino and waits for someone to harrass. In a fun way, though.

On her first day of work, Angela heads to Championship Vinyl to find the door locked and an envelope with her name on it taped to it.

Inside the envelope, she finds two keys and a note that reads,

Angela -- Sorry if I'm not here for the start of your shift. I'm working an estate sale. The guy had the kind of rare country and blues I couldn't resist. Put on some music you like and explore the store; the register's pretty easy to use. I should be in later. -- Rob

Letting herself into the store, Angela sticks the Natural Born Killers soundtrack in the player and idly flips through the pop and R&B racks, waiting for any business.

Logan's house hasn't managed to aquire much clutter in the few days he's been living there, but there is half of a surfboard on the back deck. (It looks as though something bit it in half, and Logan himself has a bit of a limp, but he's not volunteering any explanations.)

The house is stocked and ready to go. The tiki torches have all been lit. Condoms are discreetly stashed in drawers all over the house, the liquor cabinet has been unlocked (though the really good stuff is hidden in Logan's room), and the kitchen has been filled with food and drink mixables.

The only room locked up is the utility room - one of the roommates has an important project stashed in there.

Logan's heated up the grill, taste-tested some of the alcohol, and now he's in the living room playing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

I'm currently looking for two clerks to help around the shop. Must be serious about music. I'm not going to take anybody who thinks that Avril is really punk. Seriously. Drop off your app here, telling me your name, age, and your top 5 songs of all time.
